Hello everybody, I am relatively new to the F-Body scene, at least when it comes to suspension.
I really want to lower my car, but I don't think I want the same suspension type as everyone else.
What I'm looking for is a full street setup, but have a stiffer suspension setup in the back (so I can kick the rear end out)
And a softer suspension up front so I don't slide off the road.
I've looked around for some coilover type setups and all I have really found is $2500 coilover kits for corvettes.
Well, I'm 18 and I work at a grocery store..
So really, I'm looking for a build your own type of coilover that I have done with previous cars or at least heard of doing.
Anyone have any ideas or done something like this before?
The system doesn't necessarily have to be adjustable all the time, just don't really know what approach I need to make.
Thanks everybody, I appreciate it!

I'm saying this as a guy that tracked his car in scca. And has a great deal of experience in the suspension of these cars....
Run a stiff rear and loose front. Will end up killing you or the car! It is by far the worst way to set up your car!
The car will not ride smooth with a stiff rear. And will fill like 1 ton pickup with no wieght on the rear axle. And the soft front will exacerbate the unstable nature of the rear(not in a good way). And you will end up in a ditch or around a pole. You want the front and rear to match. And working together.
Why do you want coilover suspension? Beyond bragging about it there is no need for it. Unless you are going for a all out race car.
Get a set of BMR springs. And KYB AGX or Bilstein shocks. You car will ride fine and be more stable. And do some sfc, sway bars, panhard. You can't have 1/2 of both worlds it won't work that way.
We are not rolling around in 120 HP Hondas. We don't need stiff springs/shock and hard tires. To get our rear end loose. All you need to do is jab the skinny pedal on the right. And the car will do it for you.
Sorry if it sounds mean. Not trying to come off that way. Just trying to save you a lot of pain/money/heartache.

haha okay thank-you for the quick reply!
And no you didn't come off mean at all!
But okay, I understand what you're saying I think..
Only reason I said stiff in the back and soft up front is because I've worked on "drift" cars before and they usually run that style of set up.
Not saying I want to turn my z28 into a drift car (really not the right car for the job) but I would love to be able to control it better while it is sideways when I'm messing around.
Not trying to be a pain or nuisance, but is there anyway you could list all the stuff I would need to set up this suspension?
Anyway possible I'd be able to get like super cheap ebay parts on somethings?
Or even pull parts from junkyard cars? I'm at the junkyards around here about twice a week.
I'm not as cheap as I sound lol, but money is tight and any temporary improvement for my suspension would be awesome..
Thank-You so much already for your help!
Here is a video of my throwing my car sideways (yes on a track, Nashville Super Speedway)

I wrote a sticky on suspension for our cars. Follow rhe the basics. And worry less about the tubular front end. Since you are on a budget. And worry about that later. Search the forum, craigslist ect to find deals.
