LOL
Those were the #'s the dyno showed but it doesn't bother me. I'll use them as sandbagging material.
But James did an awesome job tuning the car and it's dead on. As a matter of fact, his base tune was very close and that was a pcm mailed to me, on a car that he never seen or had to tune a 24x for. being that I had the B-body MAF and he thought is was an F-car MAF, I had to break it in SD. But it shredded the tires with just a base tune. After the dyno was done we did a test drive so he could tune the trans on the road. I had some bad cam surge that he fixed as well.
I didn't get a pic of the graph but gonna try to get him to text me one. The HP was a straight climb with no dips at all and the tq curve was barely a curve. It ran flat from 2800 to 6500 and had just a very slight downfall after 5800 or so. Maybe 10 lbs/ft. The car shifts spot on at 6500 in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
AFR was dead on, even in the base tune. He said it was so flat that he has trouble getting LS motors to do that.
So if anyone is ever in question about doing a 24x swap, well, there's your answer. Using HPTuners, he was tuning on the fly. Can't do that with LTx PCM.
Now the downside. the oil leak is still there and leaking like a bitch. We used a borescope, mirrors, etc. heads dry, intake dry, We could see the oil running down but not see where it was coming out. Pissin me off. It's building pressure in the crankcase because it's blowing out the breather tube going to TB as well. Also, no one really wanted to lean over the engine at 6000+ rpm to look around. Granted it's holding together fine, but it's just scary.
I'm gonna trailer it down to the shootout and get some ideas from other there, but not gonna race it. Hopefully someone has an idea of what it could be.
Burt all-in-all the wife drove it when we got home last night and she loves it. She said it pulls like it did with the previous engine on the 100 shot. Now I can't wait to get the juice back onit and try it again.
