On this engine im putting in my car.Im putting a set of 1.6 crane RR.Do I have to change my knock sensor out?I would guess if I do I would go to a LT4 knock sensor?

It's an LT4 Knock Module not Knock sensor , Would only be needed if you start picking up false knock and timing retard from the valvetrain. Otherwise it's not needed. If you don't have the scan tools to prove you have false knock after the RR install, then it would money spent for insurance.. Think they are running $70-$100.00 now. http://shbox.com/1/lt4km.jpg

You dont need to do either, get a tune and a good tuner can desensitize the knock sensor. Also, you should get new valvesprings if yours have age

I'll vote for the LT4 knock module. GM specifically designed it for the Crane Gold roller rockers.

Why "desensitize" the knock response in the tune, reducing engine protection from true knock, when the LT4 knock module is a filter that eliminates the false knock noise signature, and allows the knock sensor/PCM reaction to respond normally to true knock.

Does it have a mess in it or anything if you need a knock module. When my engine went down the knock module didnt help nothing.
