EGR and EVAP stuff should shed a few pounds, too. I've heard of ripping out the sound deadener below the carpeting, too. Depending on how much you pull out of the dash inside (stereo, AC, etc.), I know MeanTA was able to shed quite a good amount of weight by trimming wires out of the car that were no longer needed.

its still going to be a street car so i want to keep the ac and stereo. it was just more like the jack spare tire and stuff.
so my list so far is.
bumper supports
rear seats
carpet
jack and spare tire
air pump
egr remove
and anything else i can just grab and cut off

how much should that save?

If you are going to put in a 6 point. Remove the door bars.
Recommend tubular bumper supports for street car. And prevent sagging.
Door panel, carpet, firewall insulation
LS1 front brake swap
Air bags
Cruise control

More costly
Fiberglass hood
Optic armor rear window
Tubular k member ect.

I deleted my hvac. And went to all chromoly, aluminum suspension parts.
I went pretty drastic and it cost. But i am under 3,000 lbs.

If its a street car, maybe do some tubular front suspension instead of the more drastic stuff like I or meanta has done.

Mine is street able but just barely. Not very comfortable. I have poly seats too. Not comfortable but I don't car. "I wanna go fast"

He is right don't go to far if you plan to street drive much. Mine is street legal... But it rides like a race car. I don't even have a windshield washer setup anymore. And have traced every wire and deleted it along with the air bag modules.

I am currently molding parts out of Carbon Fiber(bumper covers, fenders, hatch, spoiler, door skins). All after those couple extra pounds.

Set a goal and stick with it. Or it will consume you and your wallet lol

Yea it has consumed me as well lol. Mine rides like a race car too. I don't have wipers either.

I want lexan windows!!!! And a lightweight drag brake setup!!! That would be sweet!!

Im running 6 piston front/4 piston rear Wilwood setup.

Running optic armor hatch window and going to optic armor doors.

Im doing standing mile. So i want to have the brakes shutting down at 200+ or i would go to a spindle drag setup too.

I ran my car in scca solo and autox. So it still sports all the suspension including watts link. And sits low enough to decapitate a mouse with the k member. But the high speed stability is worth it.

That's awesome man. Sounds like alot of cool parts I would like to do as well. I just keep throwing money at my 5k car lol.

Where can I check out the optic armor stuff? Will google find it?

Which one did you go with? I was wondering how good the thinnest one is. If it flexes alot or makes noise or could it break easy. I've never messed with lexan before.

I got the 3/16 and it is pretty rigid. Breaking isn't really a issue with them in all honesty.

But if you was to go any thinner then i am. I would recommend you anchor them down with screws.

ya my car already rides rough so thats not a big deal. basically i only want to keep the heaters/ac because it gets pretty cooled here in oct lol. and wipers and washer fluid for the highways. its a 2 hour drive to the track. every thing can be cut out and maybe replace with tubular parts.

Sounds like you have a plan. That should lighten your car quite a bit without the crazy stuff we mentioned.

A benefit of a lighter car is it is easier on the rear end. Dunno what you have but my 10 bolt with an auto has seen low 11s packing a tire to 1.60s. If it was a full weight car I think it'd already kicked the bucket. I've got prob 25 hard passes on it.

I owe it to my extreme weight savings!!

Dunno if we mentioned it or not. But a drag tire setup is a big weight savings!!!!

Skinnies on the front with a bias ply and nittos on the back. Just don do any spirited highway driving!!!!!

I can't believe how much my Vette wheels weigh. I've got them up for sale now! I'm gonna go big and littles year around now.
