Back in 98 to 2000, I raced the NMCA series and did alot of ford events in my 91 coupe mustang. Best pass ever in it was 9.36 at 144. That car was alot of fun, 1.29 60 foots on stock type suspension on 10.5 tires. Divorce killed all that lol.
Best pass in my camaro to date is in my sig. Gonna replace that next season hopefully.

Best in anything is a 12.29@125 in my vette, which is threatening to be a lot faster and a much bigger trap here shortly.
Fastest in an F-Body is a 12.988@107.98 in th epurple car with the bad gearing.

13.58 @ 101 in the truck.
Driven a faster LT1 vette (my dad's), but I totally bogged the launch at the track. I hadn't driven with drag radials, or on a prepped track. I was accustomed to dropping the clutch, waiting for traction, then going after it. The bog and and running up 1st was a buzz kill :( I wanted to run more, but didn't want him to run my truck again... so I figured we were even.

2 wheels with an engine. How does it differ from a moped or a scooter?

Scooters are usually classified as powered by a under 250cc engine, smaller wheels, etc.

Thats giving it too much credit. It's more like all of the low 14 second 96-98 Cobras around here (there is a shitload of white ones and most of the owners cant drive)
not really.
Why not?
A Cobra R hood and 18" bullits are a comon mod of the 13 second crowd. The car has stock cams (along with the rest of the stock longblock), so it idles like a stocker.
It has supprised MANY, lol.

Why not?
Because a Mustang, F-body, Corvette.... etc, will never be a sleeper.

I see your point here, but for its et/trap speeds, it doesnt look capable.
Do you have any video of the stang at the track? That could be a dumb question....

This vid has two different track events. The first two runs the car has the stock Eaton blower (ported), the last three it has the Kenne Bell 2.8H:
ViPCQnSAShI
I have been itching to take the car to the track in this good weather, but I have not put a cage in it yet. I may go at the next local private track rental (they are usually pretty laid back on tech).
I have a couple items that I need to address in the suspension. After that my next round of mods are going to be a set of ported heads and custom cams along with some serious weight reduction. I am going to try my best to hit an 8 with the 6 spd. At it current power level I should be able to hit a 9.6-9.7 (maybe even better) just by getting the car down the track more efficiantly. I did not powershift any of the runs, so I know there is some ET there.
Somewhere in the midstof all this I'll be building a new shortblock with top notch components: Kellogg carnk (they make the OEM crank, but this is a much better piece, manley pro billit rods, and a set of CP pistons. This will all go into a Teksid aluminum block which will drop 75 lbs of the front end:cool:
I plan on dropping the race weight by about 300lbs (even after the 10 point chromoly cage is added), so even at my current power level a low 9 would be attainable. With another 80-100 HP on tap, I will keep my fingers crossed that it runs the time (and stays straight!)
If it does not run an 8 after the above mentioned mods, I will be ordering a nitro daves stand alone fuel system and I'll put a little N20 on top of it (I'll start at 50 and work my way up if needed)
The car has been my daily driver for the past two years, but I am about to finish another project and this one will be losing ALL of its creature comforts.

I think the word your looking for is "rain". And 9 second street cars are a lot more common now than a few years ago. It's definitely an impressive car, but I wouldn't call any pony car a sleeper. Sorry.

I ran a 14.01 at 98.93. Yeah its slow, but my car is stock with 230k and I had all of my tools, hydraulic jack, subs, amp, and a suitcase full of clothes in my car. I ran faster than what I thought I would.

So you ran a 4000lb car haha. Not bad at all for the mileage. Have you ever checked the compression on the motor?
