Never really looked at myself in that light. One of my friends and coworkers came by this morning, as he was having trouble with the brakes on the rear of his Jeep. He had leaking wheel cylinders, but when he went to replace them the line nuts and lines wouldn't separate, and as he tried to loosen them it was just twisting the lines.
So I took a look, said I have about 100 feet of the correct 3/16 brake line, and know right where to get the right 3/16" tube nut to do the job. Rather than use unions I said let me just make new lines. So after about an hour of bending, flaring, and tweaking, he's got two new lines from the rear distribution block to each rear wheel cylinder.
As I was installing them, I was on the drivers side line and said "Wow.....I'm really happy with how that one came out."
As which point he says "Well, you are a professional right? So why wouldn't you be happy with it?"
I honestly didn't know how to react because I've NEVER though of myself as a professional in what I do. More of a hobbyist than anything. Truth be told I was kind of flattered.
