P.O. put a 160*tstat in the hawk...could that lead to poor fuel economy...

Maybe not letting the puter get off of cold start enrichment maps? My guage moves from below 160* to dead on the line and my data logs show the temp max at 171* normal driving she sits at 166*

Getting 13 mpg and really dissatisfied with that!

It may keep your system in open loop and lead to shitty gas mileage. Most engines actually produce the most power at a hotter temp than 160. Let others chime in with what worked for them. I know in my truck I had a 160 in and had to swap out for a 180 because in winter it literally wouldn't heat up. Wouldn't blow hot out of the heater core. Never got up to normal operating temperature. Obv it wasn't a racecar. But just showing how cooler isn't always better.

Have you changed settings in your computer to accommodate the changed thermostat?

Yessir, the computer is going to think the car hasn't warmed up all the way. So its still in start up mode. Dumping more fuel to make sure stuff runs smooth. And never reaching the computers preprogrammed setting
