Hey guys,
I know none of us REALLY care about MPGs, but it seems lately people I talk to are expecting much more out of a cammed, stalled, A4 FBody than what I would expect. My LT1 is 040 over, has CC503 and all the valvetrain replaced, 30# injectors, 9.5" 3400-3600 converter, rebuilt A4 with "goodies" (but I don't know for sure what was done), 3.42 rear end, etc. Aside from two outliers which are skewing my average, I'm normally seeing around 16-17mpg.
I thought 16-17mpg for a cammed LT1 was good, but it seems the more people I talk to they say our LT1s should be making at least 20mpg. While I don't MIND that I'm only making 17mpg, it makes me wonder if something is off with my car if I'm not seeing higher economy. I thought my tune was lean at idle and cruising so I would have expected it to be decent on mpg's.
What do you guys normally see with your cammed A4 cars?
