Ive got a '96 car with an OBDI conversion. I had a motor in the car that had the stock crank positioning sensor in the cover. I put in a new motor and the timing cover I have for the new motor does not have the CPS in the cover (pre-96 cover).
Can that be tuned out? Is that a problem?

if you have an obd I conversion it should be tuned out already.

Fantastic:claps:...we had a freak out moment when putting the motor in yesterday.

Actually, OBD1 cars did not have a CPS at all. So doing a conversion just eliminates the use of it by the PCM. OBD2 cars come with the CPS for misfire detection. It does not need to be there for operation, but the code would need to be 'tuned' out to get rid of an SES light... But only if using the OBD2 PCM
