I was wondering if anybody has a recommendation on a good alternator? I can't get one to last more than about 2yrs, then I have to get another. The current one is a Napa NEW alternator and I think my warranty is up already. The regulator is giving me problems, so I guess Im on the hunt for another one. Anybody have a good suggestion? AC Delco still make them?

Hmmm I would think you have a problem if you cant get them to last after 2 years. Bring it back to napa and get it exchanged. Ive never had a problem with a rebuilt alternator.

used on dirty bird from gmhtp and i will have one on all three lt1's soon. i have the same issue, except mine eats them in about a year and a half. should solve the problems

edit: these are all new direct drop in alternators. they have a 140 amp and a 200 amp version. i will be getting the 200 amp versions

Just bought a reman from Advance, lifetime warranty. They're easy enough to swap that I don't care if it only lasts a few years.

The first one i had (other than GM) was a rebuilt NAPA, last about a year. Then I upgraded to a NEW NAPA unit, that lasted 2yrs..Luckily, this is still under warranty. Im gettin' that sucker warrantied, and just throw it back on. Does the high RPM kill them too?
