Valve pan cover torque

I replaced my valve pan covers today.I tightened them down very tight.About as tight as you could get them,well this hurt my vave pans or my car in anyway?

Probably not. The stock style centerbolt valve covers have pedestals that stop them from being tightened to the point they warp, unlike perimeter bolt covers. But anything tighter than "snug with a 3/8" ratchet" is unnecessary.
