I have a slp 2800 stall in my car and I went to the track yesterday with my bolt ons and baby hot cam I ran a 13.1 pretty much every time. But every time I would lauch my car it would be like at 2k rpms and felt really slow out of the hole. And every time I would try to launch it harder then 2k rpm it would like hop out. I was thinking it was cause I need brakes or that doesn't matter to keep it planted I tried just launching it off idle and it still felt slow with sticky 555r's and the tires was sticking very good but it just wouldn't lauch harder then 2k rpms. Im I doing something wrong..???

I have the best results launching from idle and I know the 2800 stall is not enough. Throw in a Yank SS 3600. Also create a sig so people know what you have, you may have other issues. Posting the time slip results would also be helpful.

Definitely off idle you will see best results with a converter that small. I have 4000 RPM TC and I launch at about 1500, just above idle, which gets the best 60ft.

That's not entirely true^^^^^ some converters like to be preloaded and some like to be flashed so I would say bring the car to the track and try a few different ways of launching to see which your specific converter likes it.......

Correct but I highly doubt a converter that small was built to be preloaded.

Well I tried a number of different launches from idle all the way up to 2k and I found the best was around 1500-1700 just to get the slack out of the cam

Your 60' needs work and the 3600 will help. What are the other mods, gears etc., year of car, tune, shift points ?

With that trap speed you should be in the 12.7 range easily, every 1/10 on the 60' should get you 2/10's on the ET. I have no advice on that TC either as I am running a 4K Yank, and still playing with my launch too.
I am a bolt-on with a best of 12.92 weighing ~3500, and having some wheel-hop off the line. Best 60' so far I think was 1.72.
X2 on adding a Sig, so everyone knows what mods you have going on.

Hmm, only way I can think of is you'd have to log in to the website through Safari on your phone and do it that way.

Ya I was thinking high 12's it was also really hot n sticky where I live by Illinois Wisconsin border so the Humidity sucks my car was running hot that night to like 220-230 which is hot when u have a 160 thermostat I even let it cool off and still was around 180 and the lines was so packed by the time u got to the tree it was back at 220-230

IMO 3:73's, Yank SS 3600, 1-2 shift@ 6400, shift kit and add a X pipe. You may need a better tire.

I tried shifting at 6400 rpm and I catch valve float so 6200 is the sweet shot and I don't have x pip I have a y pipe lol. But back to the subject do you guys think it cause of my brakes that's y I can't launch it harder..??

WELL TRY SWITCHING YOUR THROTTLE BODY BACK TO THE STOCK ONE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS

I don't see why it would be your brakes would have anything to do with it. So you were saying, it you sit at the tree holding higher than 2k, you spin or hop off the line? Then at 2k, no spin and just feels like a slow launch?

Ya that's exactly what it does

Try some of these and launch ~2300RPM tire pressure 23lbs back front 36psi. Put an old almost worn out shock absorber on the right side rear and old shocks up front newer one on driver side rear. Try the stock throttle body to see if that helps i'd suggest 52mm. Run 3/4 or full tank of gas weight behind the axle will make the car run faster some even make a ballast box to preload the chassis for better launch in the hatchback area try putting a couple of plastic coated 20lb weight plates on the passenger side to see if it helps launch traction.
What valve springs are floating at 6200rpm with the 1.6 rocker arms?

Might help to see what suspension mods tire pressures launch rpm techniques others are using in heavier cars click on the details
