On page 4 Doug from ECS chimes in and REALLY makes a name for his business. I remember when that shop was reputable and respected. Not so much anymore after this. And of course, the OP in his complaints gets banned from CF for reposting in an attempt to get the word out. Amazing.

Is this the same shop that wrecked a vette a few years ago when the techs took cars home for personal use?

As a forum owner (MiFBody) and administrator (here), seeing the ay the other sites handle vendor disputes always puts a really bad taste in my mouth. Especially LS1Tech - they're supposed to be helping the community, but instead any time there's a dispute with a sponsor (apparently even if they're a sponsor on their sister website) then they lock it up and stifle any conversation to go on. So instead of people KNOWING to beware of a shop, it's like an urban legend that a shop is bad because only the people who saw the thread before it got deleted knows about it. IMHO, that site does a huge injustice to the community because I've seen them @#$! over way too many of the forum members for the sake of keeping that sponsorship money rolling in.

Wow I'm speechless. Stories like this make me feel so incredibly lucky I have two really good SMALL shops in my area who specialize in these cars. We actually have three but the third is big and seems to have all the same issues you hear of with some of the other bigger shops. They actually just built and tuned Papa Johns Camaro. There is a 20 page thread going right now on my local forum where they were rude to a group of import guys looking to schedule some dyno time. Several other members posted pics of some really shotty work also. Its actually very entertaining to read..lol

I know rich through a friend with a supercharged c6 from vette doctors. Richs' car is very nice and always sounded healthy. sucks that he got screwed. Heard a similiar story recently from a friend with a g8 from another shop. I guess it's just no one cares anymore and it's always not their fault it must be the owner because he's not a performance mechanic.

That's one big reason I try to do as much as I possibly can myself.

I would still like to hear exactly what issues ECS found as to have on the lift off the lift, on the lift off the lift, etc, etc. They never did say what they had to do. If they had explained themselves and said what they did to the car, or how the car was fighting them, then maybe I could see their point. But obviously, the way that guy worded that post, he sounds like an asshole.

As soon as he jammed the jack under my car I would have stopped him right there....and he would be paying to fix any damage.

No, that was CAM......can't remember the guys name. There was a LOT to that story though. Granted the shop was in the wrong but the cars owner was pushing for a brand new current year car and the shop had already said they'd get a same year lower mileage perfect condition car as a replacement. That's when shit hit the fan on that one, the owner took it everywhere because they wanted a new car out of the deal.

Doug can't spell and he's talking that much trash. That alone would keep me away from him.

A buddy of mine had a clutch installed in his LS Fbody at ECS. They called him the minute it was finished and asked him to pick it up as soon as possible because they didn't like Fbodys bringing down the class of the place!

This. What was the "Fire Hazzard?" Were the Duke boys hiding moonshine in the engine bay?

That's insane. I can't believe the tuner came on and said thosr things, even if the vette wasn't ready, which looked damn nice. I obviously won't be using them but I just csnt believe it all!
