2001 4.8/5.3 - what transmission?

I have a complete 4.8 engine out of a 2001 Silverado and Id like to use it in front a ls1 transmission. I need to know what year the cranks changed allowing truck motors to bolt directly to any ls1 transmission. Im thinking mine is going to need some sort of adapter.

Anyone know what year they changed or what the adapter looks like? Thanks

I read the link twice and Im still confused :doh:......so does that mean I should be good with my 2001 4.8 crank? Thanks for the info btw..

The 99 and 2000 6.0 had a longer crank flange to meet up with the 4L80. I think all the others are the shorter length.
