race weight

if i am going to GUT the car out to be a drag car. what goal should i be looking for weight wise. is 3000 lbs hard to reach?

As low as possible. Then you add weight back were it's too your advantage to make the minimum weight required for the class.

3k is easy without spending a lot of money on light weight parts...if the budget allows for all the lightweight parts then 2800 is in range...add in metal fabrication and sub 2600 is reachable....this is before driver

i was at 3100lb with just a head and cam setup and not fully gutted. looked stock on the inside still.
