How much weight is it worth and how difficult is it to do away with?

Well, I've seen it listed as a weight reduction item. So that's why I asked. Just trying to gauge its worth.

You lose about 8 pounds. On a street car not really worth it. But if you are stripping the car down. Every pound counts. You will need to tune it out or pull the gauge bulb. And install a delete kit. Its not that hard to do.

I think it looks better and makes it easier to work on. Weight would be the last thing id be worried about with a street abs delete

I deleted mine cause it was inop all the time. It makes the engine bay look much better. Weight wasn't much of a concern. With my brakes being all lsx now the car stops fine even without the abs. Also it makes more room for a centrifugal or a turbo;)

Makes aftermarket rear ends cost more, so delete it and save.

There's no need to buy any extra brake lines either. Everything you need is right there when you remove the ABS unit.

If you eliminate the block, how are the brakes proportioned? Same as before, with more power to the fronts? I assume it is easier to hook up a line lock after removing the abs as well?

You can buy a proportioning valve to put in line with the rear brakes. I run mine with none at all.
