View Full Version : Harwood cowl hood

Post up some pics of LT1's with Harwood hoods. I'm thinking about getting a new hood since when my front bumper is going to be painted they're going to blend into the hood. I think the Harwood is my favorite but one thing is that anyone else notice how thick looking the part that over hangs the headlight buckets is? It looks like its extra thick for some reason like in this pic:

http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff255/Toronto_LT1/d69fe6ec.jpg

If i can get one without the thickness there I'll definately go with one.

That is the hood I am getting. The thick area is to be trimed to fit. Most hoods come with a raw unfinished edge including along the sides underneath. I have put on quite a few hoods in different styles on many f bods.

My hood has a little ram air looking deal on the front of it. Are there two different ones or is it because its an old hood?

I like the narrower ones...

that is just set on the car in the pic with a terrible cell phone. but you get the idea. I haven't gotten to bolt it on and everything yet but hopefully by spring it will go on when the car is ready.

that lip is just for strength. it can be trimmed off and orginally I wanted it cut off, but my painter said he didn't think it would look as good, and will really increase the strength w/o any real weight added.

oh and just to make you jelous i only paid 75 for the hood!!!

why you ask?

thats all! one of the local forum guys found it on craigslist and so i called the guys that had it and picked it up the next day. So 75 for the hood and had a buddy fix it and shoot it for 250, so over all i only have 325 in the hood.:metal:

That's my favorite lt1 camaro. It's so simple, but just perect.

And that's the best hood for lt1 camaros in my eyes. Then the stock SS.

That red car, just looks pimp. If I had an lt1 I'd clone that one.

yup.. he had a green car with the same hood and wheels, and it looked good. The red, just looks awesome. That is one car that holds up its looks in person... photos aren't hiding anything (except the LS1 :jest: )

Here's the old green car, with my truck stealing the show :secret:

Don't get me wrong it's not a bad hood, but not my fave. I will probably end up selling it for a sunoco

That is "Cherry Hill" on the east end of Galveston Island at one of the LS1tech Gtown Cruises back sometime before '05. That stretch of road was known as a streetracing spot since there was not ANYTHING on that end of the island. But the road SUCKS... doesn't hook AT ALL. And yeah... it's pretty steap... that's why my truck isn't parked downhill... no e-brake :D
