94 z28 cuts off going down the road

i have 94 z28 and the other day i was coming home and the car just cuts off..i sit there for a few mins and it will crank back up and drive a couple more miles and cuts off again...i switched the icm out of my buddys car and still does it...u can let it idle for 15 or 20 mins and it dont it..just when u drive it....i have done the opti test that shoebox has on his website and everything checked out but one of the wires..that one was suppose to be between 1 and 4 volts and the reading was .9...im beginning to think its the opti but would like some input before i just start putting money and parts on that i dont need...new fuel pump and plugs and wires last year...any help will be appreciated

Have you scanned it for codes? The optical cam position sensor will set a code (DTC 16) if it's failing or intermittent. When that code sets, the PCM shuts down the fuel system. To complicate things, that code does not turn on the SES light.

The three major victims of heat soak are the ICM, the optical module and the fuel pump. Appears you have ruled out 2 of them. I'd still check the fuel pressure.

How hot is your coil/ control module getting? Maybe try spacing it from the head with some washers. And see what that does.

i will check the fuel pressure to see...what kind of pressure does it need to be?...not real sure how hot they r getting but i will check them too and put the washers on too
