You should help us out on this one. A buddy of mine is dating a lady in Tulsa that owns a photography business and they've got some models that do work for them. I'd be very glad to get some shots and see where it goes from there. Maybe I can con someone into borrowing their Pro-Stars. I don't really dig the white wheels, but I'm doing what I can with what I got. I always thought my car would look soooo much better with some Draglites or Pro-Stars.

I can definitely look into it.

If it's saddle stitch on 12x18, it becomes REALLY easy. Quantity basically wouldn't matter. I could even do just 1. If people wanted it to be spiral bound, then I'd have to deal with a set amount and ordering the coils for the # of orders we had. Not hard,... just that supply cost goes up.

Kinda odd... this is the first year that we haven't done calendars at work... I'll have to dig up some files (or just make them) for the months.

Calendars would be freaking awesome, but I think we should hold off on it. I wanted to do a picture of the month contest for next year, where the winners will be in the calendar. Instead of having a fucking stupid committee pick the winners, why not let the people who are going to buy it!?


As soon as the new year rolls around, we will have something in place. Don't worry guys!

Oh yeah one last thing, a lot of people bitch and moan about the girls from the ls1tech calendar. Basically the argument is that there is too much focus on the women and not the cars. I agree, which is why we will do it the way I just mentioned. if there is a girl in the month winner, cool, if not, no biggie.

We don't put money ahead of our members!

In all honesty, it depends on what you guys/gals want. We wouldn't even need to do a photoshoot with models. If the site had been around longer, I could just snag the Picture of the Month from the previous 12months. I just need pictures that are of a decent resolution, or good enough to tile a few of them (say a grid of 4 on one month). We would definitely need to put a cap ahead of time on the number of white Camaros though :shame: :D


This is one other benefit of being at a print shop. :D

No idea what I'll do with them... but I'll figure something out.

Yep, that's her! She does some very good work for all the local guys and that's pretty cool in my book. I might have to give my bud a call and get Amanda to fit me in somewhere.

I'll let you know if I ever get rid of the wheels, but they aren't OEM white wheels. They used to be silver ones :(. I just painted them so they weren't so mis-matched after the paintjob.

This is where the persons photography skills would come into play. I'm not really a fan of multiple cars on a month page in a calendar, but if it's what hte people want then I won't say a thing.

I am however (yes, I'm breaking a man law) all in favor of NOT having a bunch of models in the calendar. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely a fan of a half naked good looking woman, but there's a time and place for that and standing in front of a car ain't it.

I'd rather see something with one car that had a mod list to go along with it. A mod list for ten cars would cram the calender...

one ltx vehicle as a big photo
other photos of that one vehicle (or even other members vehicles) on a film strip looking thing going down the side of the calender or on the bottom of the calendar... I'll post an example later on when I get some time in to do some photo-choppin

I'd say something similar for other months... not filmstrip on each. e.g. torn edge with pics below it, faded in pictures in the sky above a car, or something like that. Ever seen someone take one pic with the hood down, then pop it, and take another and photoshop them together so it's transparent? Some stuff like that would be awesome.

It still comes down to lots of members wanting their cars in it, and many of them being "equals" on mods or photography.

thanks! that was just a rough idea to put in my 2 pennies... I really didn't feel like typing in all the mods at 4AM lol... I was gonna make it so the film strip was wavy but once again, it was just a rough idea at 4AM lol

we should definately just try to get as many cars in as possible. make it less of a competition. this is kinda a community and we just put all the cars with the most mods in it it would be like a competition of who is able to spend the most money. i dont have enough money to mod the shit out of my car but i do take really good care of it. i just think that should count for something.

This link is work safe... .but if you click around the site more, some of it is questionable. NOT porn... but some burlesque and pole dancing shows. But also lots of automotive stuff. He's a photographer that shoots all sorts of things.
