So a little history to catch you all up...
I bought the car in 2000 with 60k miles as a toy. The nice pictures in the link are from when I just bought it. When I got it it was a lowered full bolt-on car with an M6. The only things I really did with it was put in 4.10 gears, LT4 knock module, Short stick, drag radials, relo brackets, and OVC wires. I ran it that way at the track and pulled a 13 flat @ 105 with a 1.8 60ft. The car was only 6 years old then so my initial investment precluded me from making any major changes to it. So I stayed that way until I had a bit of a disaster happen with it. I was driving down the road and hit a rock that fell off a truck. Put a hole in the oil pan, put a hole in the floor board, cracked the bellhousing, and dented the torque arm and muffler on the way out! A little J/B weld to seal the hole and it was running again. But I did not drive it. I bought a new pan and oil pump but never got around to swapping it. I then decided to put an auto in it to have more consistancy at the track. So I took out and sold off the M6 stuff and bought a built 700r4. But also never installed it. That was 2004.
Life happened and the car sat in the garage for about a year in that state. My father inlaw approached me about working on some car projects of his. So we put the camaro in the trailer and parked outside at his lake house. And there it sat for 7 years under; a cover but outside.
So as 40 approaches, I had the urge to work on something for myself and get back to my passion. So with my wife's blessing, I resurrecting the camaro. I had the car towed back to the house and cleaning out and organizing the garage. Hoping to have it in the garage and on the lift by this weekend (my birthday).
I have my work cut out for me but I can't tell you how excited I am to be getting back into the hobby again. I am looking foward to finally putting my skills to work on my own stuff and get to the LTX shootout next year. I will update when I have made it to the next milestone.

You should make the trip to the shootout this year to meet people and spectate and PARTY...to A: not feel old and B: a little added motivation to get your LTX ready!

I just looked at the date. For some reason I thought it was earlier like June.
I might be able to make it to race if all goes according to plan...but you know how that can go. Let me look into it.

Got the car up on the lift today. See the link for the latest status and picture. The car is not in bad shape at all for sitting so long.
