Found out the bird has been wrecked! So instead of sulking over it I will take the advice from our friend POPO, and vent to the LTX family. A friend who details cars was taking a look at it, and the first thing out of his mouth was "You know this thing has been wrecked before Right?" :face_shocked: "WHAT!?!?!" It wouldn't be such a big deal, but I was under the impression that it was an all original low mile 48K car. So anyway here are some picks of the evidence. You can see the uneven repair on the fender here.http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq167/2tuff4u_01/IMG_0025_zps7b959ebe.jpg (http://s444.photobucket.com/user/2tuff4u_01/media/IMG_0025_zps7b959ebe.jpg.html) Now I saw this flaw in the paint when I bought it, but I was so naïve I really said to myself " That's strange they let this roll out of the factory with that paint blemish.":doh:http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq167/2tuff4u_01/IMG_0026_zps03fbf583.jpg (http://s444.photobucket.com/user/2tuff4u_01/media/IMG_0026_zps03fbf583.jpg.html) and some more. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq167/2tuff4u_01/IMG_0028_zps7909cb1d.jpg (http://s444.photobucket.com/user/2tuff4u_01/media/IMG_0028_zps7909cb1d.jpg.html) http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq167/2tuff4u_01/IMG_0029_zpsbdb51b97.jpg (http://s444.photobucket.com/user/2tuff4u_01/media/IMG_0029_zpsbdb51b97.jpg.html) None of the gaps line up. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq167/2tuff4u_01/IMG_0030_zps00bbf316.jpg (http://s444.photobucket.com/user/2tuff4u_01/media/IMG_0030_zps00bbf316.jpg.html) http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq167/2tuff4u_01/IMG_0031_zpsbd8cb832.jpg (http://s444.photobucket.com/user/2tuff4u_01/media/IMG_0031_zpsbd8cb832.jpg.html) You can really see it here. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq167/2tuff4u_01/IMG_0032_zpsdfb61315.jpg (http://s444.photobucket.com/user/2tuff4u_01/media/IMG_0032_zpsdfb61315.jpg.html) Trunk lid sits really high on the passenger side. http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq167/2tuff4u_01/IMG_0033_zpsfea29587.jpg (http://s444.photobucket.com/user/2tuff4u_01/media/IMG_0033_zpsfea29587.jpg.html) I couldn't get a picture of it, but if you were to run your hand across the truck lid and spoiler you can feel the waves in the repair. My friend could tell the difference in paint, but I cant. Ohh well what are you going to do. Thanks for letting me vent.

Im of a different nature.

All of my cars have imperfections...

whether its from a crash...or from many years on the road.... i look at it like this.

If I was happy with what i started with... when i got it.....then nothing is gonna change my mind....cause I can ONLY make it better.

You may notice...and u may focus on these things...but think about it...

Did ANYTHING really change with the car? nooo...its the same TA you started with.

Now...if it just got t-boned...and its no longer the same car u were haply with...that...is a different story.

And neither of those guys above even own an ltx....or fbody... ;)

You'd be surprised of how many imperfections are in brand new cars. It's hard to tell from the pics but a lot of what your saying is from a accident is pretty normal imperfections that roll right off the assembly line.

I agree... can you take some, DISTANCE shots.. (not to far, but of the entire car)

Also, if you want to know how bad it was... if it will change how you feel. Take it to a collision center, and have them put it on the frame rack.....

i been finding evidence that the camaro i just bought was wrecked, but you know what, you build a street car to drive and have fun with, ill fix a few body lines paint the damn thing and have fun with it. and if anyone wants to break there eye lashes looking at my uneven body lines, thats fine but you cant see them after the hole shot.

my turd is full of scratches, chips, a few door dings, the hood don't line up for shit (typical SLP), it was lightly wrecked by me and the shop that put it back together screwed it up. I took some time and tried to line crap back up and it is better but they are not Bentleys, so the fit and finish from the factory was pretty poor. My HHR looked better after it was repaired from a rear end accident than it did new. Even though my Camaro has tons of imperfections I realize it is 20 years old, been driven, raced, beat on (by me), and it still brings a lot of looks and some first place and best of trophies at shows. I used to have this on my showboard -" She may have scratches, dings and chips, but at least it proves I drive this Bitch"

Sorry it took so long to reply back to you guys, it was a crazy day at work. First off I wanted to say thank you, and that you are right. The car still looks and drives great! Im sure it wouldn't take much to get it fixed properly if I really wanted to.

I agree man, unless you're trying to make this thing a show car, most of that stuff is so minute that I wouldn't worry about it. Unless the hatch is leaking or something, it's no big deal. My TA is clean and clear, never been wrecked, and the hatch lid doesn't sit flush on either side of the car  but you can't really tell from 10 ft. away, so it doesn't bother me. As long as she drives great, just enjoy her and consider them battle scars!

I look at it like this, you bought a car that is 15+ years old, even if it is really low mileage for an LT1. Those noses are heavy as shit to just be hanging there, wreck or no wreck they sag over time. Just like mustangs... panel alignment sucks from the factory. So I wouldnt worry too much about it.

I'm not seeing any huge issues here. You should see mine. The gaps on your front end look pretty good to me. Paint nicks are normal. The hatch sitting high, while not a good picture, is an easy fix. Screw down the bump stop a little. I've had every single body panel of mine off, and need to tweak everything again to get the lines just right. Most of the cosmetic damage you posted looks like it's on the spoiler and hatch. If it bothers you that much, just have that repainted and blended.

Nevertheless, it looks like it's probably a beautiful car from the pics posted. I bought my camaro knowing that the rocker panel was smashed in, not really a big deal to me at the time. This past year I've had the car torn apart, and discovered that it's also had a rear quarter replaced, and there is stitching in one of the front inner fenders.. so who knows what all has happened to it in the past, but it doesn't change how I feel about the car. It's the same car that I've grown to love over the years... and sure, I might wish it was a low mile pristine car.. but it's not. And honestly, I wouldn't change a thing.

What is the width on those wheels? Tire size? Thank you! Its a 10.5" wide rim in the back with a 305 tire. even with 1" spacers it took a little love from a hammer to have them fit well.

Car looks good even if its been wrecked. The nose lines look fine. They all do it with age. Plastic fenders, plastic nose, and a fiberglass hood will only line up with each other for so long.

I hate when people like to point shit wrong on other peoples cars or things they don't like. That silver Trans Am is really nice. My buddy Tiago builds a lot of 1000+ HP street cars, Vipers, Supras, GTRs, LS Based stuff and at the end of the day any car that's more then say 5+ years old or that's been modified, it isn't going to be perfect any more. When I go to TI, minus the Under Ground Racing cars just about everything there has flaws, but no point in being a D-bag and telling people stuff like that. The interior on that Trans Am looks clean, to me wiring and interiors are usually dead giveaways how some one takes care of a car. If the interior is trashed and dirty the rest of the car usually is as well, same with if the wiring looks like a rats nest chances are the rest of the car is half assed. You're TA looks good.
