I'm going to be getting a mail order tune for my car. The question is if I tell them I'm running nitrous will the timing be retared? I don't really want it to be as I bought a timing box for that reason. Plus right now I'm only running a 100 shot and as soon as I get the motor built if will be a 200 shot.

tell the person tuning it to tune for NA performance...you will then adjust the nitrous A/F ratio with the kit and timing with your retard box...once you get her going, willing to help more with the nitrous tune if you need it

Well if I get a wet kit will the jets do all the a/f ratio for me? Or do I need to change anything else?

Depends on what you are running. The wet kit's fuel jet is how I have always controlled the AFR on nitrous, then I just pull 3 degrees per 100 of nitrous as a baseline. I'm sure Ray would know a whole lot more than me though!

Ok thanks. I'm going to order my kit here in a week or 2. Can't wait for the snow to be gone so I can head out to the track.

yes you will control all the nitrous fueling with the jet size....I also believe in pulling more timing than the norm and work it back in. I also run my kits leaner than I will ever suggest for starting points online. Start reading all the online articles and information you can concerning spark plug reading. This is the best way to tune a nitrous motor. They will tell you everything you need to know about whats going on inside the combustion chamber. Once I can get mine back out to the track I will try to take lots of pictures of my tuning process to share with you guys. This will be a brand new motor/cam/nitrous combo, so I will almost be starting from scratch. Is this something you guys would be interested in?

I could not agree with this more!!!! I pull the plugs on my friend's formula after a nitrous pass to see what is actually going on. I would be interested in seeing it for sure!
