I switch to 1.6 rockers without doing anything but they weren't full roller rockers.

Ya swap springs as well. While your that deep might want to look at replacing the valve seals also. Negligible price and worth doing if you got some mileage on the heads..

I wish swapping to 1.7s was that easy.

If you havent bought the rockers yet. Then swap to a 7/16 rocker and stud. It will help with valve train stability when go with you le2s later. It wont cost but another $50.

7/16" studs almost always (if not always) equates to NSA rockers. Never seen SA rockers for 7/16 studs.

This would also mean guide plates (another $40-$50 for new ones) and hardened pushrods.

Not worth the $$$$ for a stock cammed engine.

I've got a nice set of low mile lt4 springs if you want to upgrade when you do your rocker swap.

Sorry forgot to add guide plates lol. It is if he plans on running le2 later like he said. Why buy rockers twice?

......It is if he plans on running le2 later like he said.......

Not neccessarily.

Depends on his (projected) usage of the LE2 set-up......and the cam specs the Lloyd recommends......
