I am going to build this setup, just to do it. I have a Eaton 122 off a GT500 mustang and a tig, mill/lathe in my garage. I want to make this just to show how easy it is and have it fit under the stock hood and cowl. Ill make the setup but i intend to sell it after it is complete and build a big ass turbo setup for 650+hp, just going to kill some time.
Anyway i will start on this the week after christmas. I will use a stock intake if possible that is modified heavily, so no leaks. I have done alot of measuring and i can make it fit, but the blower will be permanent, as in no upgrading to a eaton or anything. Also i will be using a Lightning 8-rib lower pulley so you have alot of options while keeping the large 3" upper. I calculated it out that a 8.4" lower/3" upper will be pretty much the same as a GT500 with 10% OD (7.8") lower and 2.6" upper, which is as fast as you can spin this thing. On a 355 it "should" make around 14psi and around 525-550whp/650 or more wtq, and be a killer on the street. This will be non intercooled so a meth injection or E85 setup will be needed, or pulley down to 7-8psi with a 7" crank.

Also, i had this all drawn out and everything, and had found the couple guys that did blowers so no need to link. Then i saw the MPE Impalla SS setup and that is basically what i had drawn, so if you want to know what it will look like, imagine this but fitting under the hood (different blower)

So my main question is, if i go through with this (im ordering the pullies next week if so) i want to know what this will be worth to someone. I can have it done by the LTx shootout for sure, probably earlier like march. It will be a complete intake/supercharger with inlet elbow and flange for LT1 TB that will use stock cables, and fuel rails with bungs welded on, crank pulley setup, and idlers/tensioner with bracket. I will try to use connectors to connect the stock fuel lines and regulator as well.

So, interested? whats it worth roughly? (i wont sell unless i can make some $$), I will have it on my car and running with the big pullies by the LTx shootout otherwise so everyone can check it out. These blowers are really cheap, not going to say what i paid for it but it only had 30 miles on it and is mint.

Man, that would be kickass. I've seen some LS1's with the Magnachargers on 'em and they are badass!

I've always wanted a roots blower under the stock hood...but like brice up there ^^^^^ I dont have the coin for it right now. Keep us updated though. It's going to be badass I'm sure.

im working on a setup like that as well, got my choice of s/c's to work with. got a couple friends who work at the EATON plant here and a couple others who work at one of the engineering shops and they get used ones all the time. im just waiting on my meth stuff to come in so I can start fabbing up the intake/pulley system.

nice, i was actually thinking around $4500 should do it and still come out with some good profit. I know a ported 122 on a GT500 can go up to around 650whp, thats the limit. I figure with around 550whp i will be happy, should have ureal amounts of tq and crazy avg power so peak numbers wont mean much. Hopefully i can get the metal for the flange this week, if not i will just start machining the blower and drill/tap the new holes. Or ill just drink beer all weekend and look at it, either way ill post up the progress

yeah you figure that out let me know as far as for the ls1 you still have a clearance issue but like a 70s z28 hoods with the teardrop style cowl should work dimensions are here for the ls1

Any progress? Interested in what it looks like and you're meaning of permanent. Possibly interested in a setup as well as i like the low end power roots blowers make and gotta love the sound.

I had to go a different route. Sold the blower for a bit more than i paid for it, and got a nice big turbo and a set killer 215cc of heads for just a bit more than what i sold the blower for, sorry! Opportunity was too good, and now i can make some REAL power, like 700+whp

Will it be aftercooled (intercooled)?
