Hey guys I'm pretty sure the chrome finish is done on my ws6 wheel here. I figured I get your guys input before I did anything. There is only 1 wheel that has this problem the rest are fine minus normal wear and tear. Can the finish be salvaged or am I better off painting them either gunmetal or sliver. Let me know what everyone thinks.

If you can afford it, powder coat them

I repaired my zr1's by sanding the crap out of them, using a good primer and then dupli-color engine enamel, all spray can stuff, lasted 5 years with not one chip or peel.

If it's just the one wheel, buy a replacement or have it rechromed.

I love gunmetal... Or you can find that plasti-dip thread.

That finish is done... sand em and shoot em.

OR if money isnt an issue, send them all out for re chroming (so they are uniform)

I personally like my salad shooters im getting them powder coated within the next week or so all 4 wheels 350. I was thinking of doing a black metallic with silver in it so it has that glimmer. I was going to leave that outer ring polished though and of coarse the chevy cap

Great input...powder coating is not an option right now as I am finishing up my cam swap parts and as well as replacing all the gaskets from stem to strenum of the engine. So I might be leaning towards doing a rattle can job for right now. Now I just have to find so pics to get an idea of the color I want to go with. I promise no rice colors will be used.

Strip them and polish. If im not mistaken arent they like the 01-02 speedlines which i know for sure are polished aluminum with clearcoat over them.

Thats what i did with my speedlines. Let the stripper sit for 30 mins then spray off with a water hose. Took two coats then polished them.

I started with 600 for a good scrubbing and then hit it with 800 to feather the rough edges.
