Do we have any automotive air conditioning experts here? I'm looking to get all the necessary tools for my A/C system. I'm really not sure what all I'll need. I understand the basics of how refrigeration systems work, just not too sure about automotive systems. Also are there any good write ups or tutorials on overhauling the air conditioning system, preferably for the Fbody? My '95 Silverado also recently lost it's A/C so I'll need to take care of that one too. It's just too hot down here to not have it, plus I'm gonna be selling the truck soon and that will make a pretty good difference in what I can get for it.

1 Recovery machine
2 Vaccuum pump
3 Gauge set
without those 3 pieces gonna be hard to do it correctly

I have a manifold/gauges and I should be able to borrow a spare vacuum pump from my work. I'm guessing I won't need the recovery machine since the system has a leak somewhere. I have no pressure. In the event that I need to, I could always take it to a shop to get the refrigerant pulled, that shouldn't be too expensive. I think I'm gonna pull the whole system apart, clean the condenser really well, replace the accumulator and orifice tube, and then put the whole thing back together with new seals.
This will be my first time working on a refrigeration system to this extent, but it really isn't all that complex compared to what I'm used to, laboratory instruments.
Are there any vehicle specific quirks that I should be aware of (something difficult to reach, crazy special wrenches or tools that I might need)?
