Well, my Camaro has been sitting under cover outside for 7 years. Time to bring it back home and get it going again. The goal is to create a very low budget drag racer. I will start another rebuild thread when I actually get started.

My question today is what do I need to worry about after the car has been sitting so long? All fluids will be drained and replaced. I have a new opti and water pump that will go on. All the seals will be replaced on the motor. So what else do I need to worry about? Fuel pump? Wiring? I just want to get my ducks in a row and be ahead of things before I get started.

ur on the right track...

brakes and rotors are possibly shot... go over brake and fuel lines....

like u said...all of the fluids should be swapped out. gasoline is probably varnish .....

ur gonna have to go tgru it as u find it

The fuel tank and pump has me worried.
I plan on putting a cam in it so new injectors are on the list.

What about the MAF and other various sensors? O2's will be replaced when I put on the Long Tubes as part of the project.

I think you should just put some fresh gas and oil in it, see if it will fire up and if anything leaks replace as necessary. Give me a holler when you work on it so I can come over and laugh at you. :p

You might also check for rodents that have chewed wiring under the car...and rats nests...under the dash and so forth ..and on the exhaust.....
