hi guys, I have a couple question about headers and exhaust.

Im removing all the EGR system and Cat,
is there something i should be aware off?

1)Will those longtubes headers do good? Its a basic stock car. since im changing the engine might as well upgrade with headers.

2) thats the Y-pipe that goes with it?

3)and what about this exhaust? nice and loud?? idle sound?? any video??

----

and the valve cover gasket is it better using real gaskets? or some gasket maker?

I was told to also change the water pump but if its no leaking should i leave it?

and my car is a 95 so my opti is vented right?

4) will this one do? is it good? to keep one in stock

I'm gonna have someone tune the car after changing the engine to get the most out of it.

I'm planning a road trip this summer with my car. about 48h's round trip. so I want to make sure shes running great!

thanks guys!

If you get the black painted hears you want to strip the black paint off and get some vht paint to coat them the paint that is on those headers is not ment to stay on it will burn off as for the y pipe they good i run the ceramic coated headers on mine i like them and i have the y pipe too also i run a single 5 inch round magnaflow dumped just before the axle sounds great :D

Try lookin into the summit headers. Pacesetter actually makes em. Mayb able to save couple bucks. Make sure you order off roads headers since ur deleting the egr. That opti should work great. I would lock tite the rotor screws tho. I would actually use valve covers gaskets. If the water pump not leaking then i wouldnt change it. If lookin for loud exhaust then id do just dynomax bullet right off the ypipe.

Also if you do go with the painted headers. Then make sure you leave your o2 sensors out when you 1st fire it up. If not the paint will burn off and foul out ur o2s. Also make sure u buy o2 extenders. Good luck

Thanks for the info guys.

the motor is a stock lt1, i'm not touching the inside since its my summer DD.

Those summit racing headers will fit well like the pacesetters? even with the Y-pipe?

and the painted headers are also painted on the inside?

The summit headers are made by pacesetter. And will fit the exact same.

Paint does get on the inside. The go down a assembly line and get bombarded with paint. So like said leave O2's out for first fire up.
