hello, new here. was lurking for a while.
i recently purchased a set of zr1 rims. grand sport. the front fits fine (17x9.5) but i'm having problem with the rear (17x11) when i tried it on. i jacked it up from the diff, and they fit. but now that i have it on the rack, the axle is hangin down. the back of the rim hits the bump stop. should i cut the bump stop mount off? is there a way to relocate them?? i do plan on lowering the car a little, so i do want to have a bump stop.
any ideas?? or what have others done before?
thanks in advance.
Get a die grinder and have at it. I cut plenty off of mine, but about half of the bump stop remains. Its quite simple but put on some long sleeves and glasses for sure. That shit starts to itch after awhile.

What's your backspacing?

i'm not sure about the backspacing. i will look at it tomorrow. but basically, if i use a 1/2 inch spacer i should clear it fine. but the rims might stick out since with out one it already sits flush. before i left work i played around with it. if i juck up just one side the side walls will rub on the metal part on the inside. so i don't think theres anyway around this without grinding metal. i guess worse case is i will make this work for my chevelle. i think i have more room with that car.
i'll take pic and post tomorrow.
thanks

I run oem grandsports with no issues on fitment. Should bolt right up with 50 mm offset on your camaro. If you lower it however, the tires will rub the fender lip. Best bet is to but a drag bag on each side and you should be fine. Here is how mine sit...

thanks, i cut the bumpstop mounts in half to get clearance and then nothced the bumpstop bolt holes. i was able to move the bump stop back far enough to clear, then i pounded away on the inner walls of the fender. the driver side cleared no problem after that. the pass side didn't. i use a 1/8 thick washer (temporary) then it cleared. so tomorow i'm off to get spacers and maybe an adjustable panhard rod so i can center the car on the axles. here are some pics.

I'm not 100% certain if my bumpstops were edited, but I don't belive they were. I have an adjustable panhard bar though.

I bet the adjustable panhard did the trick when it centered the wheels.
