What Studs Should We Run 3/8" Or 7/16" And will the pushrods need to be changed since we are running guide plates now?
Thanks!

The answer is simple. Run whatever studs the rockers are designed for. Obviously a 3/8" rocker requires a 3/8" stud. Hopefully you already know that because otherwise I feel pretty dumb telling you this.
The pushrods will only need to be changed if they are not hardened pushrods but since you mentioned they are, you're good.

^^^yep. If you don't know what studs they need. they will be in the paper work. And should be on the rockers.

Yes it did run, but it started to backfire and not start.
Picked up a opti off a roadmaster from pick n' pull, changed it out and it fired right up..

How did it run without guide plates. Wouldn't of the rockers fallen off.

Looking at your rocker arms they look self aligning. Do you have part numbers for those rocker arms.

AllblackLt1, what brand are they?
Those are branded Proforms.
I had a set on my car when it was just bolt-ons, but upgraded to Crane's when I cammed it since I didn't trust them and they have terrible clearance with springs.

Im not to sure what brand they are. Got them from a guy over on Ls1Tech for $125 who had them on a 383 LT1 so i figured they'd be fine with cam only.
Should i look into some differnt RR's?

I have no experience with them.
Previously I ran the scorpion (blues) on my stock heads... and now with the 227s, Im running TD shaft mounts....
So listen to what some of these guys have to say.

Valvetrain is definitely a "you get what you pay for" area on these cars. Don't skimp if you can help it.

not to hijack a thread, but is there a reason for hardened pushrods when running guide plates??

Joe is absolutely correct. Your valvetrain is where it will "make it or break it"

Yep. Those guide plates will wear on non hardened pushrods pretty good.

Some are, some aren't. There are reports that 93-95 pushrods are hardened while the 96+ pushrods are not. It is not worth the risk and for the relatively small cost upgrading to a name-brand pushrod is a good idea.
