Hey guy's another ghost in the Trans Am yet again.
Today I installed two used known to be good headlight motors with new nylon gears installed in my T/A and they still don't work. Sigh, I bought the car as a project car and they never worked before. The old motors were really hard to raise manually like the motors were shot or something, The new motors go up and down smooth like butter.
I put the volt meter on the connector coming from the car harness with the light switch on and am reading 14.20 volts on both sides. I checked the the 2 fuses for the left and right side headlamps in the fuse compartment under the the hood, the fuses were good and I tested the sockets underneath the fuses and got 12 volts. I checked the connections at the headlight motors and all pins were in good shape, no bends or breaks or corrosion, everything appears to look good. I pulled both connectors off the headlamp module and checked the connections and pins there as well, no corrosion, all pins are intact and clean. I am starting to loose my mind. Is it possible that the headlight module is bad?, or could it be a wiring issue? Starting to loose my mind, I'm hoping it something stupid because I would hate to spend $200 on a new module or even worse take off all the wire sleeving and look for damaged or frayed wire throughout the motor compartment. Hoping someone can give some guidance. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
