I've got a pair of lt1 edelbrock heads just sitting in my garage. I have my stock lt1 block and I was thinking (when the funds are available) to rebuild the block to a 383 and thought of getting these heads reworked and slapping them on. Supposely they are too warped to get resurfaced (according to a guy I know) but I haven't taken them to the machine shop to be sure. I know no one cares for these heads with good reason but still they are there. Do I try them or just save up for some better heads? Just looking for opinions.

To be honest i would work over a pair of stock heads. the eddy's isn't really known for performance on our blocks. And there isn't much gain from them.
Plus if they are warped like you said. You would be better off starting with a good pair off used LT1 heads. and going from there.

If they were mine, laying around in my garage, and if they could be milled, I would give them a shot. Everybody hates them but to be honest how many people have tried to make them work? If you already have them you don't have much to lose.

I don't hate them, but I wouldn't put them on a 383. I would get them checked out and fixed (if feasable) and slap them on a 350 with a cam.

No people at all because everyone I've mentioned these to think they are crap. I figured they are edelbrock so they have to be worth something

They're worth it to those people who believe in a name but not in performance.
I too would sell them and put the profits toward having a stock set ported.

1. Get the heads ported and milled. I'd be willing to bet that they are not too warped to be worked.
2. Once milled and ported, they'd be suitable for a 383.
3. If you have extreme doubts, I'd take them off your hands ;) .
Just sayin'.....
