Its an amazing video and should be watched until the officer takes off his camera glasses... everything from the pure evil of the shooter... to the will amd fear of the officer... even saying goodbye to his family on the radio... to the amazingness of the civilian who came to the officers side amd promised not to leave him after being shot 3 times... amd not in the vest.

As a poloce officer, watching this instantly puts me in his shoes... i felt the fear... and found myself holding my breath as I waited to hear the officer breath and talk...

The problem is that we have all of these NON lethal weapons, and what society and the media is doing to our job has officers over thinking the progression of force.

If i have someone failing to show me their hands after having attacked another person... ur damn sure Im pointing my sig at him.

In fact... in the 8-10 years we have had tazers... ive never fired one on the job amd ive probably drawn my tazer less than a handful of times... and only when anothr officer is on scene with lethal force drawn...

Such a powerful video... id never critisize the officer... he did what he felt he needed to do... and he paid for it. But i will be damned. He is SUPERMAN in my book.

on the phone using TapatalkIm not sure about the case that ur talking about... but a knife is considered deadly force... so for a knife, we trump it with a firearm. And even then, many times we lose...

As for body cams... we dont have them yet because our district attorney has not set up policy on them. There are constitutional rights that get violated when we record and we enter a home... etc. So all of these things must be addressed prior to they can be put into use.

For example... we have in car cameras. The mic is on my shoulder if u look at the pic just above my badge. Im required to let everyone know they are veing recorded for site and sound when i stop them.

If i enter a residence... i actually have to stop what im doing... remove the mic... turn it off then go back to making sure myself and my partners dont get hurt.

How ever I am jealous of how much restoration stuff they have. You can get what ever you want for those cars. It needs them pretty bad, you can hear it creak and flex coming out of driveway. I have a set of Alston frame connectors I need to have welded in. I also picked up an Astro steering shaft, the factory one has a worn rag joint so the steering has a ton of play in it.

Haha, yep. Had an 84 Firebird SE as my first car, and the 91 GTA was my second car. Stepped into a 99 T/A, brand new off the showroom floor after that, then lemon lawed it 8 months later and got the infamous Black 93 T/A.

The 99 was a basket case. Day 1 the A/C system was inop, no cold air. Found this out on the hour drive home from the dealership I purchased it at. Couple days later got in with my local dealership, they charged it, and found the Compressor had a leak. So literally at 9 miles on the odometer was the first issue with the compressor replacement happening at 256 miles (I remember this because this was important for depreciation on the lemon law). At 8xx miles, 5th gear synchro's went out in the trans and the trans decided to obliterate itself internally is what the tech said. New T56. Car spent over 2 weeks at the shop while the dealer decided what to do. At about 2K miles, same thing on the new transmission. They rebuilt this one. Then an axle seal went out at some point. Then at about 8K miles, the T56 went out again. I started pushing for a lemon law buyback, and the DM for Pontiac said no because they haven't done a 3rd fix with a 4th failure. So I educated him as to how CA law works, and that if a vehicle has either a 3/4 fix/break OR spends a cumulative total of 30+ days in the shop within the first 12 months / 12000 miles, it qualifies. I pointed out that their systems will show I'm at 28 days, and asked if he could have the T56 rebuilt in two days time. He said he'll start the paperwork and I could turn in and get a check the following week.

But man she was quick. My first ever stick car, and my first ever time to a track or racing a stick and I went 13.53@106 bone stock at Sears Point Raceway with it about a month after buying it. I'm sure a better driver would have taken that down a decent amount.

On the 93.........I presume you mean the purple Turbo one I had. I really wish things had gone differently. I pushed too far with that one when I should have kept it more simple, and less modified. I miss that car.

Great job! He's a hero in my book. Of course the media last night did a horrible job mentioning anything about it. I think Walmart has been breached or some of of I dont know how it all works. But the person did show me a old password for Walmart that I used. So I thought I'd let you know change your passwords often. The fact that an old pw was shown to me is kind of scary. I change mine for most that I remember often. Oh and I don't have web cams but I do have security cams.

I know the feeling son. I have let alot of projects sit for awhile whenever they get aggravating. Eventually I get back on them. It got so fing hot here in the spring and all through the summer that I let the '57 project sit. I got so hot one day that I got dizzy, so I quit. I'll soon weld the spring perches on the rear end, no way I was putting on long pants and sleeves, hood and welding gloves during the summer.
