Some Nay sayers, will say, nay. The 5th gen was an old model, you can't compare the two cars. The 6th gen is all new and they made such massive improvements, less weight meant more performance. Have you seen the interior, that new 10 speed laps the rings in under 8 minutes. Plus once the new ZL1 gets in owners driveways, the 5th gen model curve will look nothing like this. Well lets take a look at 5th gen SS cars versus their 6th Gen SS counter parts, cars that have been out for over 6 months now and are following the same curve. The 6 mo 6th gen was a car posted on the forums, right now dealers are rebating hard so the markets a bit goofy.

That's what everyone says... Got it in November last year with 100 miles on it... And I've got almost 23,000 on it now. Lots of out of state stuff I've gone to with it. And a lot of abuse on the stock clutch.

This winter I'm not adding any power... Just doing a good clutch, MGW shifter, and matching front wheels. Then I need to save up for a good 9" IRS setup. Cause the event I went to in Ohio I snapped a half shaft. So my daily isn't so daily anymore lol

I just had my 22nd birthday 2 weeks ago. So I'm still a kid... And still a little shit at times. But I've settled down a hair

When we shoot at my gfs parents house, technically the law of pa says cant be within xxx yards of another occupied dwelling thats not your own, but the neighbor shoots too, we have a very good backstop, plus a mountaim behind that that her rents own the property.

Theres alot of different gray areas in pa laws. A buddy lives in a township which technically youre ok, but his mailing address is the neighboring city which is no discharge within city limits, hes heard both sides of coin from local popos, but was usually fine. then the catch 22 came when the township enacted a "disruptive noise" ordinance that he cant avoid

Its all gonna depend on the specific twp and the ordinances they have set. For example... the twp where I work used to be an area where as long as u met the safety distance u could discharge whatever u want. That was 15 years ago... now there is a NO DISCHARGE ordinance in the same twp, created and passed by the board of commisioners.

Amusing story: today i went to the post office to ship something out, and there were 4 people ahead of me in line. 3 others came in behind me. This PORTLY SMELLY woman was behind me in line. The two people at the counter were obviously complicating things and causing the line to not move... every minute or so... the woman behind me would yawn really loud and blow her breath towards me... holy halitosis!!! I bit my lip... then she would start clicking her pen annoyingly... I bit my lip... then she started making comments out loud about the slow service... after about 5 minutes of this crap, I could no longer bite my lip... finally she did the yawn thing and i had enough... in a low voice, i turned to her and said... "listen ma'am, they are doing their job and helping people out, the rest of us are being held up as well, yet u dont hear any of us putting on a show like u..." she tried to interupt me and I put my finger up to my lip and continued with... "shhhhhh... uve said and done enough for the last 5 minutes, how about u join the rest of us amd stay quiet and patient, or at least brush ur teeth if ur gonna keep blowing in my direction..." she turned bright red and stormed to the door. I always wonder what things would be like it hospitals/med facilities charged what the service actually should cost and not an inflated number that is reduced by insurance anyway. The tax break here is the the med facility can then claim the difference as a "loss" for tax time.

On another topic, I'm having lot of fun with warranty service. I swear good or even decent customer service is dead. No one actually gives a shit about your situation nor wants to "make something happen." Not one person has given me an update on their own. Car has been at the dealer for nearly 3 weeks as it took time to diagnose and then parts were finally ordered. Dealer is given an estimate eta of parts and they did not arrive as expected. Was told should be the next day....now they don't know what is going on or have a date of arrival. I call the customer service team to see if they can push this along so the dealer can get the part and do their job. I'm told they will escalate the issue. Days go by and no response. I'm told all has been done to try and expedite and resolve the situation. The part is said to be shipped but do not know where it is at the moment. The part is rather pricey so one would assume they have appropriate tracking of these things. I ask to speak to a manager or supervisor and I get the line "we do not have a manager here." I rephrase my question and ask them to confirm he/them have absolutely no management? He says yes..... so I press more and ask him "so you are the president/CEO of this company?" We go on for a bit more. At this point, I'm likely going to have to file a complaint and perhaps take other action.

Snapped the stock driveshaft. Had an aftermarket one in there prior but due to prior warranty work, they didn't want it in there. Driveshaft was replaced but had some noise and vibration at highway speed after the DS was replaced. Took it back in and it's been there since. Tech says the trans tailshaft bearing may have gotten hurt so they are replacing the whole thing. They do not repair these transmissions. Fine by me but shouldn't take this long to get a part.

Thanks on the supra. It was a good deal and the car is solid. It needs a few things addressed but will be a fun clean up project.

Well the new truck looks great... suprised they totalled the red one though. Usually a total requires that the damage be equivalent to or more than 60-80% of the vehicle value...

Well, switched gears today on my cam build...

I was going to have my stock re-ground to spec but found a 20% coupon for Autozone. Bought a CC503, shipped for 237.96.

So, now I have the intake (thanks kgkern01), 52mm TB (thanks Amazon $146), 1.6 RR (thanks @94Blackbird (http://ltxtech.com/forums/member.php?u=1623)), springs/retainers/locks/pushrods (thanks Alex's).

Just need timing set and guide plates to be there.

So my grandpa had some PO2 Deluxe hubcaps for the Corvette hidden up in the attic. I've never seen them before so at first I didn't know what they were. Kinda cool. Going to be having them all restored and we're putting them back on the car. I'm doing it for him for an early birthday/father's day present. Can't wait until spring!

164k miles. 5th gen maximas are know for 3 things: rust, rear calipers seizing, and coil packs/mafs going bad regularly.

Let's not forget the fact that u must run premium and platinum plugs or it will be sluggish as hell and ping once it gets warmer than 60f outside.

This car was neglected before Craig (rip) had it, as soon as he got it he had to replace both rear calipers/rotors/pads and passenger side ebrake cable. The cable he put on wasn't internally lined, so it seized again on me and when it did it smoked the caliper/rotor/pads and possibly wheel bearing from the heat

I may ask his dad if he wants to buy it back

I got the spree running. Wouldn't start with the key so I kept pumping the Kickstart. The Kickstart was locked up at first but I modified the gear so it would work. Just kept pumping and pumping and it started up.
I gotta lose weight cuz I'm too fat. Carb needs adjustment too.

Keeps the carb colder and helps with atomization going into runners. Also on boats they sometimes time to level the carb if the motor is on a angle mount etc. Used to make em out of wood, but I think their all fake stuff material wise.

Can somebody give me some advice on trailering a car? Girlfriend has a 01 Sierra 1500, 5.3, 4x4. Planning on going to good track this year that's on other side of the state and using good tires too. I've pulled jetskis and stuff before, never loaded a car though.

Depends on trailer you use. Either way, go slow, and leave distance. Always anticipate people being fucking retarded assholes.

If its a uhaul, you are stuck putting car front wheels where they make you. Idiot proof and usually to much tongue weight IMO. But it will work fine.

If you have access to a real car trailer, and or a decent weigh scale to use, you can get it setup nicely with ~10% tongue weight.

If you do trailer it with slicks on a 10 bolt, you do realize its like 99% sure you are winching it back on trailer right? :lol:

I won't be using slicks, just radials. But I'm going 3 hours away from home, many miles away and a tow back would cost a lot. Just being careful 😂
It'll probably just be a uhaul trailer unless I can get a nicer one for a nice price.

May is always my bog month off... literally take nearly the wntire month off for chillin... winter to spring transition around the house as well as CRUISIN OCMD... Which if u have NEVER... it is a MUST for any car guy...

Ive been off since Tuesday and dont return to duty till the 26th... but I will be playing detective monday trying to knock out 6 search warrants and serve them all the same day.

No... its not like on tv where they make a call and have a warrant.

Its a long process... followed by requiring approval from the DA to then getting it approved by the DJ... THEN SERVING all the warrants.

Fortunately 4 of them are thru facebook so serving those wont be hard... but the other two are on a Doctors office and a hospital. Gonna be a hellacious Monday....

that looks actually fairly decent. just don't touch the fuel lines, guarantee they are rusted together and second you disturb them they leak all over right behind cab edge
