And my car should be ready to enter into a class, as well. New clutch going in ASAP. Gonna finally get some SFCs ordered and installed after that. One step at a time!

any engine that is properly maintained can run "forever" i have seen the dreaded 6.0 powerstroke run over 700,000 (and that was a government vehicle)

On a side note get a impala as drop out and u will have a ls4 under the hood but make sure u get a built trans before u even think of dropping any mods on the motor.

I know the car may have a tiny bit more in her...but i fig id make everything simple...and less aggressive (like launch rpm) to keep it consistent.

For the more experienced and knowledgeable folks, wtf does this bolt go to. I can say with absolute certainty it doesn't belong where I found it used. If u can't tell it has a lobe like on a cam. It is actually about half the size of the bolt that should have been in its place.

Gotta be suspension related. That bolt is usually used for setting camber on a car where it needs adjusted. Its usually the upper bolt of the two at the bottom of a shock lower mounting point. Or did that bolt come off an F-body? If it did......got no idea where it goes.

Its off the regal but it was being used to hold the strut to the spindle. The proper bolt is just a bit bigger than the area where the lobe is.

Funny part is after causing 6 turnovers they only capitalized a field goal from turnovers. All the other points scored in the game were run of the mill drives. NYs d was fighting hard but really couldn't rush Romo till the 4th quarter. Romo is a much better qb with time in the pocket. His only int was from a reciever making a rookie mistake. Good game none the less.

Was just looking around online to see if it would even be worth it to start thinking about setting a little money aside to mod the Lumina a little bit. Nothing outrageous, was just thinking some decent suspension, nice tires, and curious what I could put on it for a little more oomph, but the LQ1 has zilch for aftermarket parts that I can find. No headers, no exhaust kits, nothing. And I can't even find any special shocks or anything for the damn thing, just what O'Reilly's has off the shelf. Starting to think it's a sign to just leave the car like it is and not worry about putting any more money into it than I have to to keep it running lol. It already has no working AC, so it's not like it's a car I plan to use much anyway. Only saving grace is the stereo I threw in it back in college to make driving it bearable, but right now it's sitting on 3 bald tires, AC barely blows and blows hot air at that, the shocks are pretty old and the thing bounces around like a bucking bull on a bumpy road (kinda fun actually :lol:). EGR valve doesn't work on the highway and throws a code I ignore indefinitely. Burns about a quart of oil or more between every oil change. Pretty sure the coolant system has a good amount of rust floating around in it from the way the radiator fill cap looks. All around pain in the ass design to work on the engine to begin with. Front and rear windshield seals are shot and leak when it rains, paint is horrible, car is 3 different colors on the outside. The carpet is all stained to shit between my grandma spilling coffee and dropping lit cigarettes in it back before they gave it to me in 2006 and the leaking windshields that leave a nice musty smell in the car (starting to think it's molding under there or something). The underside of the dash is falling apart, the dash pad on top is curling up on itself from sitting in the sun, the seats are worn out and uncomfortable for long periods of time. Really the only saving graces on it are the stereo, the fact it's only got 116,500 miles, and people actively make room for me to pass because the car just screams "Pull out in front of me, I dare you, I could use another insurance check." :jest:

Man, when I spell it all out like that, it sounds pretty dumb to put any money into it trying to make it a sleeper... Thinking I'll just focus 100% on getting the TA built and then sell it when I'm done. Maybe some W-body lover on their forum will want it for the LQ1 :whistle:

I've heard injuneer say that the "160°" is the opening temp and is not fully open until 20° hotter. So I would suspect that in order to take advantage of the lower temp, the first fan needs reprogrammed to come on at say 190, off at 180. Second fan on at 200 off at 190. Any lower than 180 and you will be working against the engine.

Even with a 160 a electric waterpump and completely new cooling system i still had to set my fan temp to 195 on 185 off, i didnt like the fan running CONSTANTLY once i went below 25mph, i have a light wired in so i know it turns on because i had that issue once. Chris is right the stat wont be fully wide open until approx. 175-180

My old apt complex had my bird towed without even warning me. I went to pick it up from the yard the next day and it suddenly had a sticker on it with that days date and a 3 day warning. Not the day it was picked up or 3days before it was picked up but the day after it was. But I still had to pay cause I wanted my fn car back.

Mean while my section 8 neighbors car had no inspection for a year and had run for another 6months before that. Never got towed!!
