I'm reading a quality fastener, assembled with the right washers and lube are the most important part.

Ohhhh...and here i was always under the impression that studs were stronger than bolts because of the way tension pulls something or other (i know....very technical)

I'm sure there is a benefit over using regular bolts. But if you take 2 fasteners rated at 190,000 psi, one a stud and one a bolt, will the engine know the difference?

Maybe there is something on arps website that can explain it.

No. I figured the cylinders would be as slick as glass but they still have a good crosshatch on them. I'm convinced that when the msd opti was bad and I was troubleshooting that issue, that's when the rings got washed out. Every time the ignition was turned on or cranked the 60# injectors dumped the fuel in. And there was a lot of cranking!

I reconnected with a guy I worked with back in the early 90s when I worked at a machine shop and he now has his own shop so I know for sure he knows what he is doing so now I have a place to take my LT1 for work and I dont have to worry about it being right. This guy knows his stuff and now all I gotta do is get a better job so I can pay for it hehehe.

ya, i would have preferred to have a 96" wide, but this will work for now. in the future i do plan on getting a 24'-28' enclosed but that's just out of my price range now.

Same here...all over the place...training one day at 8 am has me up at anywhere between 4 and 6... But yet, my reg wrjnshift is noon to 8pm... But on weekends the days are more normal...except when i spend all day out in the heat and sun.... Then ibpass out when i get home and eat then wake at 3am....

Ophhhh...and monday will be a 4:30 wake up.

The ring gaps were not spaced very well. Don't know if they were installed like that or spun in the bores. Either way I'm never going back to them.

So if I'm still having problems after all this I've got an l99 I'm going to put in as a test mule so I can iron out any issues there are with the bracket. Id like to try one setup like I have it now and one with the throttle body mounted on the front of the engine and see what works better.

I think that was my favorite part of the show, it kept throwing me for a loop every time I thought I had something figured out. I love shows that are unpredictable like that. I hope they continue it on to a season 2 once the guy finishes writing book 2.

So I get the car finished, start it, fires right up. I bring the idle up to 2k and let it warm up and it starts backfiring out the exhaust again. I'm thinking wtf omg fml, all of that. So I instantly break out the compression tester, the same brand new rental from oreilys I used before and threw it in #1...... 75#. Again with the fml wtf omg etc. I've got an old school tester I used to use, the kind that you have to hold in while cranking, but its a pain in the ass because it won't fit in all the spark plug holes with headers, plus you have to have two people to use it. But I figure, what the hell, so I go get my wife, tell her the drill and jam it in... blam 135#. I throw their Chinese crap back in, 75#. Their compression tester has a leak in the hose.

Again with the fml wtf omg etc. I've got an old school tester I used to use, the kind that you have to hold in while cranking, but its a pain in the ass because it won't fit in all the spark plug holes with headers, plus you have to have two people to use it. But I figure, what the hell, so I go get my wife, tell her the drill and jam it in... blam 135#. I throw their Chinese crap back in, 75#. Their compression tester has a leak in the hose.

I think when testing the old rings, when I added oil and i seen the pressure rise it was sealing the leaky hose, not the rings.

Ah, having fun on the lunch run. Took a coworker with me who used to own a 77 Camaro back when he was a teenager cuz he wanted to check out my firechicken. Decided to give him the full experience and rolled down the windows and floored it for him. He was pretty impressed on chirping the tires going into 2nd and loved the acceleration. Sorry man but your asking for my opinion..... Piece of SHIT, looks like shit wouldn't be caught dead in it, even if it is a drag car... If the guy is listing it as a drag car it's extremely vague, to boot it doesn't have a time slip..... it could be quick but it looks like a budget/thrown together build that some hillbilly that does his first cousin built on a 30 pack of busch light... plus your a big boy lol, gonna have to cut the roof and floor pan to fit you LOL... A nice put together build drag car will show the parts list along with time slips... this car just screams incest.

But its prob a stock gn motor... He has a vague list...but at the same time some people are not computer savvy.

Ya i agree, some people are computer illeterate... but you think at least if it was a decent running car that put up some half decent times, they would put some times up...

Sorry about that. Ive had crap load of stuff dumped on me lately wife is telling me we may need to move in 1 year. So i got to finish half a house remodel in that time. So we can sell it. My job is flooding me with work. Wife is volunteering me for stuff without asking me. Plus other things.....

On top of that have a guy bothering me to polish his aluminum wheels. And there the worst shape ive ever seen. Last set like this was some old mag rims from the early 70's took me 50 hours to do. And keep telling him there is a reason nobody wants to touch them. Guess he heard through the grape vine. I was able to fix them. So he won't drop it.

I'm thinking its bc its sitting so high in the back, I've gotta get a lower profile jack so I can jack it up and change the springs and see if that helps, I'm almost 85% sure it'll fix the problem

So you think the stock springs with the new rear is what caused that?


I wanted to ask you what you are using for LCA...are they adjustable, cause if so, I think if they are extended and forcing the rear front or back it may bind the suspension...
