John Kaley, of New Britain, Conn., pleaded guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving stemming from the February 2011 crash that killed Nassau County Police Officer Michael Califano.
The plea came after a prosecutor said it was unlikely she could win a conviction for criminally negligent homicide.
Prosecutor Maureen McCormick says Kaley's flatbed truck slammed into a cruiser with its lights flashing after Califano stopped a motorist in Old Westbury. Witnesses said the truck had weaved through traffic for two miles.
McCormick says prosecutors would have found it difficult to prove allegations Kaley had fallen asleep.

Seen BO DUKE from the origional Dukes of Hazzard at Carl Casper car show last night. I gotta tell you, at one time he was my childhood hero. A god in our house. Now he's 60 years old doing car shows with barely 5 or 6 people in line to see him. The "Moutain Man" from Discovery channel had a line 4 miles long but no love for old BO. It could have been my chance to finally meet my childhood hero but I couldnt do it, I looked at him from a distance and walked on bye. Sorry Bo.

On a side note I did not see one 4th gen Camaro out there. Couple c4 Vettes and one 99 Firehawk and a PINK c5 was the coolest lt1/ls1 cars I seen. I might drag the B4C up there next year....

Went to south San Jose today (little over an hour with good traffic from here) for some 66 Elcamino parts for my friend and ended up looking at some REALLY nice Impalas that the seller had at his shop, a 65 with a 409 and 4 speed, a 61 and another 65 that he was working on.

We leave there and go to Walnut Creek and his friends son also has a 65 Impala!

I got Impala overload today but its all good in my book :)

My friend was working Thursday and he got rear ended by a guy who may have already been dead when he hit him, the accident moved my friends 18000 pound work truck (local utility PG&E) several feet forward because the guy never hit his brakes but it did cost him his life which sucks big time.

My friend Frank had just climbed in to the cab just before it happened and I went to S.J. so he didnt have to drive or lift the 66 parts because hes really sore from the accident and after spending about 4 hours he actually thanked me for helping him.

The thank you kinda blew me away and I told him Dude we have been friends since the 10th grade and you dont need to thank me for hanging out with you but I do understand why you said it and thats because I AM AWESOME!!!!!!

He got a kick out of that and I just thank God he wasnt a little slower on that day or I would be mourning him instead of busting his balls.
