So with my company now I been really thinking since I know I get pissed off b/c I cant find a place that actually makes a pillar pod for 93-96 models.. So I have been fabing up a pillar pod and just wondering if I actually end up making molds and what not for a double and a triple pillar for our years if people would be interested in that.. Let me know or your feed back about this. I have been already trying to get some made up and hope I can get some pics of the finished product when completed. Thanks!

what would you be thinking price wise... the "piggy back" type 2 gauge pods are like 25$ or something like that from autometer

btw I don't understand what is so different pillar wise between the 97s that we can't use the ones from autometer that are a full pillar

97's don't have the vents sticking out of the gauge cluster trim, so it gets in the way.
and I'd take one of them as long as its a full pillar pod. Preferably a tripple.

another thing, is if you could make a full one for cars with no t-tops??? those arent able to be found anywhere.

Well seems a lot of people are interested in this idea, I am going to be making for both TTops and hard tops the hard tops will be a bit more but I am going to see what it will cost me to make this and what kinda deal on supplies I can get.. I am going to be shooting for 50-100 buck range per pod.. the only thing I am having problems with is the texture. But like I said I am still trying to get the final touches on them.
But about the prices I am not too sure on so don't hold me to it.. I am not Autometer or anything like that and get the supplies for dirt cheap but I am going to try to keep it in the same range as them.

A triple hard top would be sweet. I have been neglecting installing my gauges because I always wanted to blend the Autometer pods to look stock. Just never got around to it, and probably never will. I will however shell out (if reasonable) to have someone else figure out a solution.

I would scoop up a triple hard top pod as well. So would they all be just black painted standard and we would have to paint them to match our interiors or will you be offering different colors? :D

12-04-2008, 05:18 PM
Well I been trying to find out how much its going to cost me for a injection setup and if I get my hands on that then it will be colors of cars.. If not I can paint them or what not.. I can leave them in a primer if you guys want too.... I am hoping to have pics up by the middle of this month but been busy right now so havent got to work on them much.

I'm going to want a triple for the hardtop... BUT I need one of the holes to have ability to be enlarged from a 52 mm to a 60mm for the eboost2 to fit... I wouldn't need it from you as a 60mm just has to be able to be ported out to that with a dremel or something

Just a heads up guys and remember that I haven't finished the mock ups right now been busy trying to get rid of some rides to make room... On a good note, I did find someone that sells plastic injection setup! :D Only thing is, it is a pricey sob. So if I can get this Third gen gone this weekend like all is planned I will be getting it by next week so the pillar pods will be coming out just like the autometer ones etc. I have been mocking up another style of pillar pods so I will either get my sketches up or will show you the casting of it. Sorry for the delay guys. Holidays got the better of me.

are you going to have this with the holes already drilled or solid? Is it possible for a small fee to have one of the holes enlarged to a 60mm? (if not I can just do it myself)

So I FINALLY got a quote to how much a plastic injection tool/molder would cost me.. I am looking at the lowest price right now for 1 type of pillar 1480.00 and if I do pillars in t-tops, hardtops, in dual pod, or triple I am looking at about 3200.00 bucks for all everything to make my own molds! Wow really thought I could find a better deal. But don't worry guys I am doing what I can to get this the cheapest way so it don't cost me a shitload to make them and have to charge a good bit.

Right but thats a pic of one installed on the driver side. I have one that was made for the driver side, why did you need to hack it to get it on driverside?

my car is a 96. the triple gauge is only made for the 97+ and its a diffrent style dash. the gauge pillar wont fit without modifications. mine was not custom made
