Mercedes has had 7spds for the past 10 years or longer.
Atleast the still offer a real manual and not some paddle shift crap.

7-speed manuals? Really? I know the 7-speed auto has been around for quite some time.

I maybe mistaken and it may be an auto but I was thinking it was a manual. If so then I retract my previous comment lol

Unreal i want to drive one just to see if it's even usable at a moderate speed because my 6th gear was worthless until i put 4.30 gears in it

won't it still be a double OD. just a extra gear going to 1.00 5th gear?
That's what Im assuming.

I'm curious what you consider "usable" to be lol. Hell I use my 6th gear any time I'm cruising at a speed above 45 to squeak some better mileage out of it while driving around town. Doesn't really have a lot of acceleration power till after about 70, but I still find it "usable" with stock 3.42s lol.

With 3.42 gears my car was horrible in 6th gear id have to be going 80 or faster just to use it i need to be above 2500 rpm at a cruising speed or it bucks and chugs like all hell like your trying to take off in 5th gear off idle haha even when it was stock i hardly ever used 6th with the 4.30 i can use it as long as im going 70/75.

Interesting, I've never experienced that in mine, but mine's also still bone stock. Hell I shift at 2000 rpms to keep gas mileage up (1-4-6 in city, 1-4-5-6 on highway).

Chrysler already has an 8 speed auto. the Cherokees get them next year. Lexus was the first one I know of to come out with the 7 speed auto. that was about 10 years ago.
Porsche was the first to have the 7 speed manual here in the US to the best of my knowledge. I know I could certainly use a 7th gear in my Audi. Cruising at 85 it tacs a little high. A lot of guys actually open up the trans in the S4/RS4s and swap the 6th gear out to bring down their highway RPMs
