Went and bought a new pair of shoes for work today. And every pair of shoes in every shoe store. Looked like a crayons factory blew up all over them! And even worse the colors didnt even flow together.
Might be that Im getting older. And out of the loop on whats cool. But they look like clown shoes!
sorry had to rant about that a little.

Well let me ask a question that is off the same topic... is it just me,,, or have (and Im not talking about in the middle of the ghetto) middle class kids become...."softer".... Not poking at sexual orientation, but is it just me or has style leaned more towards what we (those of us in our mid 30s) considered "gay" back in the day.... Skinny Jeans..... feminine manurisms... girly hair (bangs) , thanks to beiber.... ....I guess I read this and I realize Im the old guy... but.... seriously....
We use to fight when we were kids.... now they tell, or call the cops.... We used to play touch or tackle football in the mud... now, its all electronic... who even goes outside... and when they do.... we didnt wear knee pads... helmets.... elbow pads.... etc.

Ill say it....Kids have become soft. Boys have become more feminine, Not trying to sound sexist. But i was raised that boys were to be boys. And grow into men.
Kids these days have no back bone. or respect of any kind. And are more focused on playing Xbox and ps3 online with there friends.
Sorry Im a big believer that a boy is suppose to be a boy. which means they act and dress as one.

Wait ... I dont want anyone to construe this as any kind of sexual orientation bashing... I have gay friends...male and female... hell Ive been hit on by gay guys (Its nice to be invited to the party...does not mean I have to GO).
As for dress clothes... it may be odd in school.. but its actually a sign of respect to the administration and even to your classmates saying, "I care how people see us."
And you of all people should be aware of this.... DRESS CLOTHES can be the difference between landing the job, or not.

Don't get me wrong. Im all about being an individual. Kids these days just watch a mickey mouse club house show. then that becomes the cool thing. And show no self thought. my big issue is the emo looking tools.
I was one of the odd kids in school. I was the freak. Had holes all over my body. heck i had 3 hoops pierced on each side of my spine! with the jenco jeans ozzy shirt and hair down to mid of my back. And played guitar in a underground death metal band.
Im still a freak, just a more evolved and grown up one. granted i got tattoos from a demented qoute in tantric on my arm to pentagrams on my chest. lol I would have chewed kids now days up and spit them out
Just thank kids and younger adults need to learn and be them selves. and not try to ne the flavor of the month.
And i will teach my son this.

Don't get me wrong, everyone has to be themselves, but ripping on someone because they choose to dress up a little is just as bad as me ripping on you for being "one of those dirty tattooed freaks" I have plenty of friends of all stripes. I've also discovered that a lot has to do with how you carry yourself and present yourself to people. Can't help the ones with preconcieved notions, but you'll find that anywhere.

I got a tattoo & my ear pierced. I used to have my tongue pierced but kinda grew out of that. When I was a kid, my parents would tell me not to come home until the street lights came on & I better have my homework done before I went to bed. My kids have a play station & an xbox & All three of them (5 7 & 16) play sports or do something extra circular. My 7 yr old is in his 4th yr of wrestling & i actually getting kida good. That being said, it has alot to do with the PARENTING!!! I just bought a set of 6" Hi-tec boots for work & am kinda looking forward to them. Feet have been getting cold.

My daughter was 3 & I slapped her in the mouth in the checkout line. We were unloading & she turned around & bit my son on his arm pretty hard. It was just instinct for me because thats the way I came up. The rest of the time in the store I was waiting for someone to say "sir can you come with me". I reacted before I thought. See that's dumb. People are so worried that child protective services will be called. they don't do anything. I was raised in a house where what my parents said was the law. and i would pay dearly if i broke the rules. And i will raise my boy the same way. I don't got a problem whooping some ass if he gets out of line. And taking every possession he has except a change of close for school and home. with 1 pillow and 1 sheet in his bedroom.
That happened to me a couple times. and i learned fast that it sucks.

My parents did their best to try not to use physical punishment on me (although to be honest, they figured out I was a stubborn SOB after I was like 9 and got a pretty good butt-whooping with a belt and afterward I looked at my dad and said "that didn't even hurt" LOL), so instead I spent more time grounded from electronics/leaving the house than not all through high school. Once my mom went to the extreme of removing EVERYTHING in my room except for the bed and alarm clock for 4 months cuz she was fed up with me back-talking her haha. I learned how to keep myself entertained by doing 500 push-ups and 500 sit-ups every night to pass the time and LOTS of spacing out and daydreaming. Now I'm grown and look at how my aunt disciplines my 11 yr. old cousin and think she's being waaaay too soft on him, and he's kind of a spoiled brat because of it..
And in reference to expressing yourself, I did plenty of that in high school too. Jncos were the shit! God I miss those... Here's a pic from when I was about 19 or 20:

Shit I came from a house you got hit with whatever dad had in his hand at the time. Always in the garage and he never drank or anything. Me now, Ive tried the taste of alcohol but hell I'm 23, I can't stand the way it taste. Never tried drugs, smoking, dip, pills, none of it.
