What do you run on the street with and how do you like them?
I have 245/45/17 KDW's up front
285/40/17 KDW's in the back
My tires are pretty worn but not that bad but they're easy to spin no matter what? Do I just have a nasty HP car or what? I'm looking to get a new set of tires all around and was wondering what the widest I can go on the back is and what's a good all around tire. With the exception of snow and ice because if my car sees that crap she'll have crappy shoes with some winterish tires. Suggestions that people have experience with?

Have you done any suspension mods to help the tires hook up? You can have the widest, stickiest tires you can cram under the back of a Z, but if the suspension isn't setup right, they won't hook.

I wish they still made them, but I had Firehawk SZ50's on my old T/A.
Our current T/A has Firestone Wide Ovals. LOVE these, very grippy and confidence invoking.
The Celica has Nitto NeoGen's, love these, they wear fantastically, are VERY stable, and ride great.
Vette had Goodyear Eagle GSD3's all the way around, which I loved, but they couldn't handle the power so I pulled the rears in favor of Nitto DR's.

I have BFG Traction T/A's on my Formula.
235/55/16's all around..
Its my year round car, so I decided to go with a tire that would be good for everything.. rain, snow, and dry pavement. It hooks pretty good, and I think its an overall good tire.

That part didn't cross my mind. I want wide tires in the back mainly... well... just 'cause I guess?

honestly put the money into suspension pieces first, yea wide tires might look cool but they are not cheap. Better off putting the money into suspension pieces rather than buying tires

Cool deal. I just threw on a set of Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals and though I haven't put lots of miles on them I love them already. They don't seem to complain when I take on/off rams like all the other tires I had did and It rained a little last night and had no issues. It's raining a little bit more today so I wont drive it though. The cool thing about VA roads is they all flood all the time.

Front: 275/40/17

Cheap, but they work for what I use them for. Going back to NT555Rs on the rear this summer hopefully.

Goodyear F1 275/40/17 for the street and i throw on 315/35/17 Nitto DRs for the track. Although with my new found power Ill be buying a set of MT DRs since the F1s are a joke out back now.
The whole wide tire/stock suspension/no traction is very true. It doesnt matter what kind of badass tire you have, suspension is key.

I hear those wear rather quickly? They're drag radials, so ofcourse they have less life expectancy than street tires. However they are better than MTs and BFGs in terms of tread life.

If you want to hook you should've bought a AWD.
If you want to hook you should've bought a AWD.
False. If I wanted a weak tranny/broken half shafts/premature clutch problems, I would have bought an AWD.
