Did a quick search and didn't find anything. But does anyone have this app on their smartphone? I would like to see more fbody and lt1 pictures. I'm Corvair_140hp and i only post pictures that i take with my phone or out of date digital camera lol. Most of my pictures are of my cars, and hobbies, and along with pictures from local car shows and local scenery.
Few of mine

I suggest you guys read this before getting too involved in Instagram first:

If you're still ok with it after being informed, by all means go ahead. Just know what you're getting into.

Im pretty out of it... is it saying that as we use their service to do picture stuff... the pics become THEIRS?
"In short," the suit says, "Instagram declares that 'possession is nine-tenths of the law and if you don't like it, you can't stop us.'"

Bingo! Any pics you submit to Instagram, they basically have the right to sell to advertisers without any compensation to you because their Terms Of Service (TOS) states that they claim to take ownership of all pics submitted to them and you have no right to pursue legal action against them. Also interesting to note that Facebook bought Instagram and now owns them and they intend to fight the lawsuit and stand their ground on the issue. "Faysbook is the devil!"

Ohhhh, wonder what they will do with the pics that they now "own" that people are concerned with to discuss lawsuit.

Never really understood Instagram... just like I never understood Twitter. Taking a camera that takes great shots and making them look like a crappy camera from the 70's just doesn't sound appealing to me.

Sell them to advertisers to make internet ads using your photos without any permission from you nor do they have to pay you. For all you know, your face could be plastered on a Viagra ad and you'd never know it, nor would you ever see a single penny from any revenue generated by it.

It's more for those artsy fartsy hipster kids who think retro everything is better. Some of it I'll admit comes out looking kinda cool, but most of it is just a waste of time IMO lol.

its definitely something to be aware of how ever facebook owns all of your photos as well and we obviously know everyone still uses that, haha. There are also a ton of free apps out there now that will water mark all your pictures on your phone for you so you can upload them that way to instagram.

instagram, twitter and facebook all serve very different purposes. I have facebook, but honestly dont use it hardly at all any more, and I had twitter how ever none of them are as enjoyable (for me) as instagram. If you think about the times that you sit and actually spend time on your phone its usually while your waiting in line at the store or in a dr office or whatever. Well what would you like to look at in those few minutes? people complaining about their life and politics and their crappy job on fb? second by second updates on shit you dont really care about on twitter or cool pictures on instagram. I do see what your saying with the filters and what not, but at the same time its not meant to be a high quality photo page. its just a fun simplified way for people to share pictures of what they find interesting. many of the pictures are high quality, just shrunk down, its all about who you choose to follow.

Interesting about that there. Kind of like the thing with Ford, where if you take a picture of your Ford. It's now theirs cause their product is in it. And yes there are some filters on it that make pictures look like the 1970s plus you can also post a picture without using a filter at all. Most pictures are taken with a phone anyways, so quality isn't very great in the first place. But it is a good way to see what others that you choose to have on your news feed are taking pictures of. Is it for hipsters? Idk... That's kind of like saying f body's are for inbred rednecks. For me I use it as something to share my passion for cars and hobbies. And others may use it to share pictures of food and their thick rim black glasses. But those people are not on my feed. But since I seen this news that been brought up in this thread, I got to sit down and think if I want to continue to use this app. And will share that link with others.

LOL you're nuts dude haha.
Maybe I was a bit overencompassing in saying that it's only for hipsters, sorry if I offended anyone with that comment. But I do think everyone should be aware of what Instagram is doing with their photos. Some will care, some will not - as long as they're informed.

I guess that's why I don't see the need for instagram. 9 times out of 10, the instagram users linked to their Facebook account so when they post to Instagram it shows up in Facebook anyway. I guess if you ONLY want to look at pictures, then yeah instagram would make sense, but I do enjoy reading everyone's comments and updates on Facebook and the pictures too. For me - using instagram to post a photo to Facebook is like using photobucket every time I want to post a picture here -- the functionality exists to upload pics here, why register a new account somewhere else to post the picture?

When you post a picture on Instagram, it stays on Instagram. It will only go to facebook/twitter/and so on when the user uploads the picture and they choose the picture to go elsewhere too. Most of the people i'm "following" on instagram, are not on my facebook friends list. A few are, but for the most part, i rarely see my freinds posting all of their instagam pictures to their facebook. So it's nice to see just pictures on the app. insteasd of thumbing through facebook and peoples comments/drama/bitching/stupidity/and or political veiws to just see a picture they may of posted.

yup, i dont post my opinions of anything on FB because I feel as though no one cares. I know I don't care about all the BS peopel post on FB. My facebook friends and Instagram followers dont over lap much but I have found that instagram is a cool way to connect to others in the car community. I have met a ton of people at car shows that recognise my cars from instagram and get to chatting that way. Its actually pretty cool and theres no BS. Id much rather scroll threw instagram and see my buddys new wheels, my friends dog, a pictures of some ones new gun etc then hear people complain. I feel thats all people do on FB, either complain or brag, haha.
and no you dont have to link the two, mine most definitely are not linked because I dont feel as though everyone on my facebook page wants to see pictures of my cars all day.
since people seem to be really out of the loop on this, here is intro to instagram part two, haha.
hashtags or #. You put one of these before a tag line for example #chevy #camaro. these items then become clickable. When you go to the second tab on the bottom (explore) then go to the hash tag tab you can type in what you want to see pictures of. So say you want to see pictures of camaros, you type camaro in the hashtag search and thats what you get. if you put #camaro in your picture you will see it there as well. make sense? so if you put #camaro, and some one else is looking at pictures of camaros, sees your car, likes the way it looks, goes to your page and sees that its all pictures of your awesome camaro, they follow you. They dont know who you are, what your about, or where your from, but they know you have a cool camaro and they want to see more pictures of it in the future.
and thats how it works. haha

say i see a picture on one of my friends pages and I think popo really would really like this picture. then I post "@popo check this out! how sick are these wheels!" and it will come up in his instagram notifications and he will look at the picture.
now your all up to speed. join and enjoy, it really is an awesome place for car lovers like all of us.
