I need to heat my 1 car garage. It getting cold outside. And is making it a pain to get anything done with my hands.

I am limited to a 120 outlet. But i did spray foam insulate the walls and installed a insulated garage door a few years back. if that helps you guys out with ideas.

with a kid and a wife in school getting her doctoral degree. It has become my one escape in the house. more so then before. I don't need it to be 72° just 50°+ lol.

so... tell me what would work.

Try a propane heater, it is what I have and I got it at harbor freight I believe and it warmed up most of my 3 car back in the day but it took awhile to do it.

As long as you don't open the garage, a simple electric space heater will do it fine if you give it time.

It's a two car attached and has a heat vent form the house also.

I like the bullet heaters... dont use if you have pets or small kids walking around... but talk about warming up fast...

Last I looked CASH CONVERTERS had a few used ones in there for cheap
(local pawn shop^)

I have a propane contractors space heater for a quick heat if I'm not going to be in there too long, when all day work is needed I light the small wood stove with a temp vent system out the top window.

I use a kerosene/ diesel heater, doesn't do that great so I keep it close to where I'm working. Mainly use it to knock the chill off.

Be careful what type of fuel burning heater you get (kerosene, propane, etc.) and make sure you can use it indoors. Some specify to use in a well vented area cause they put out carbon monoxide. Don't wana get a headache every time you turn wrenches!

Good point, let's not forget about safety.

Right now I have a bullet heater for my 2 car. I have a wood stove sitting in the corner for when I find room by getting a shed for all of the non-essential stuff. My only problem is the builder never put in a pass door so the only way in is the bay doors...sucks all of my heat right out when I open them.

my garage is freezing pretty much... Colorado and - degree weather and all.

I gave up on heaters along time ago and use under armor cold wear and some latex gloves, turn the radio on and i don't even notice how cold it is.

Im just used to never using a heater and the space heaters i used didn't work, i would never put a gas type heater in my garage imo for safety.

Thank Im going to go with the 2 burner IR propane heater.

Not going to go through working on the car during the winter like last year. I installed 90% of my suspension upgrades in my driveway last winter. Not again lol

This is the heater I use. It runs all the time during the winter & keeps it bearable. I have a single car garage. If it gets cold though, it just cant keep up.
