View Full Version : Should I buy a C4 Corvette?

Basically I'm a Corvette newb. I have friends who have everything from a factory stock C3, to a Lingenfelter built LS7 Z06, to a C6 Supercharged Calloway... but I've never really considered owning one until recently. I've worked on them for friends, driven C5's and c6's, but have never owned one, and never driven a C4.
Why am I looking at a C4? Well first because they are relatively rare around here. Everyone's got a C5 or C6 Vette, I see more of them around town than 4th Gens. Second because I have a 1995 Camaro with a nice new motor, but with a body that is going to need some TLC. So I considered either buying a C4 roller or a near stock C4 and swapping the motors. Third I have a 1994 Camaro that is more of a strip car I drive on the street and I'm looking to get something different that handles well, rides well, and would be nice for hopping on the freeway and driving to work [highway geared]. The C4 fits the bill here. Fourth, it's LTX powered and I can't play the underdog starting with an LSX platform. Last, my mullet doesn't look out of place when driving one.
Now having never driven or owned one, why should or shouldn't I consider owning one? It'd be replacing my 1995 Camaro daily driver car.
Handling/Ride Quality: How do they rate handling? Behind a C5 but above a 4th Gen?
Price to modify: I know Vettes are expensive to mod, but what about C4's? Headers, exhaust, clutches?
Necessary mods: What are the main things that need addressed right out of the gate?
Years: What are considered the good years? Obviously I want a LTx car. Which have OBDI or II?
Appearance: What changed in what year? Rounded backs were 92 and up? Interior changes through the years?
Wants: I want the rounded rear bumpers, can you swap panels in the back from the earlier C4's? I could care less about digital gauges, which had those?
Work-ability: I do all my own work, what's the rough stuff to deal with on these cars?
That's all I can think of from the cuff.

So... As you may know...i have a c4.
It looks like a 96 grandsport , witg both tge inside a d outside converted.
Im 6'4" ,260-270 lbs...and its a snug fit. i love driving it though because a 96 gs was always my dream car...but i didnt want to spend the fortune on a real one...then be scared to use it....
I leave this one outside...it gets driven in everything but snow...its my dd all year round now...and the auto makes it a nice change fro. The z.
Now it rides like a brick.... It handles awesome as long as the tires are sticky...cold or moist roads ...i dont dare toss it in a curve...
Oh yeah... Its really an 85.

So if I find a early model I can convert it. But I need a 6 speed, the Camaro is an auto, and for spirited drives to work I'd prefer a stick car. When did the 6 speeds start?
I'm smaller than you, but I think I'm going to find one for sale local and at least sit in it or take a short drive to see how I like it. I know Vettes are designed to "fit tight" so I'll keep that in mind when/if I get a drive.
By brick do you mean the suspension is stiff over bumps and stuff? Is it the shocks? Hows it handle and feel compared to the Camaro? My full weight, worn out decarbon shocked Camaro feels sloppy, which is why I starting looking into a Vette instead of spending money on upgrading the whole suspension.

Handling/Ride Quality -- Night and day compared to an F-Body. The Vette sits LOW, has a lower center of gravity, less suspension deflection, etc. The transverse leaf spring setup in the Vette's really works well. The F-Body feels like a boat comparitively.
Price to Modify -- Corvette Tax, nuff' said. It's gonna be more expensive for Corvette Specific parts (headers, exhaust, intake, etc.)
Necessary Mods -- Same as any other car, your basic bolt on's will really wake it up.
Years -- 92-96 is the LT1 generation. 96 Six Speeds were ALL LT4 cars. 91-96 got the Six Speeds, the German ZF6 transmission that's a buttery smooth bad mofo.
Appearance -- 84-90 were the same, 91 saw the nose and tail rounded (BEST look IMO), 93 saw a much needed interior update/overhaul.
Wants -- See Larry's car. These are essentially modular cars, they're easily brought up to date.
Workability -- Better access to everything than on an F-Body. It's all nuts and bolts man.

I'm 6'4" 325# and my dad has a 93 vette. I fit into it surprisingly well. Its not bad at all really. Only part that sucks is getting out.

Good point. Dads is an auto. If I had to push a clutch pedal I'm not sure id consider it "cozy" anymore.

Great info, thanks Fastbird and Larry.
I'm currently fishing for Vettes on the C4 forums and looking around local. I hope to test drive a few local ones this week. They aren't exactly what I want, but I've got to get behind the wheel of one and see how I like it before I continue further. I'll keep the foot room aspect in mind when I drive one. I'm getting lots of peer pressure to go C5, but I really like the C4 cars, they are sharp and I love the lack of credit they get for being what they are. I love the way C4 guys describe their cars. How they have a primal "cockpit" feel, how they are raw machines with no use for cup holders and golf clubs. How they are viewed as the last generation before Corvette sold out and went "mainstream" with creature comforts. That's the sort of Corvette that fits me.
Since my last post I've learned alot. Just a few things I wanted to share. I've learned I'd prefer a 94-95 because of the OBDI PCM [My tuner cats will work with it]. I've also starting getting info on using Fbody clutches and flywheels, which would be nice cause this RamHD I currently hvae in my Fbody is a pretty good clutch. Also learned ZF6 cars come with 3.45 gears, which is a good match for my motor and that the C4 is going to weight 350-450lbs less than a stock Fbody.
Things I've began to prefer: I prefer the 94-96 dash which seems to be the best looking in my eyes. And I've narrowed the colors to Quasar blue, Competition Yellow, Sebring Silver, and Black. Pretty much in that order too.
I've got to learn more about the suspension system. Basically I'd like a basic break down of the suspension, component locations, and such... I've yet to cover that.

If you haven't seen the color....Black Rose Metallic is the shit. I'd LOVE a C4 in that or Steel Blue as seen below.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i177/Fastbird93/Shop%20Cars/IMAG0256.jpg
Only prob is steel blue was a 90-91 color only.
Suspension.....base non adjustable suspension has shocks like normal. The springs are leaf springs that are Transverse Mounted I.E. they go side to side instead of front to back. One leaf spring spans the width of the suspension. On the C5's there are riding pads that can be adjusted to raise or lower the ride height to a degree. Not sure on the C4's though.
C4 to C5 is a tremendous difference. C5 is refined, smooth, extremely aerodynamic (0.29 C/D), a little more open on the inside vs. The C4. Drive both.....and find what you like. Good similar examples will run similar prices anymore as C4's have been appreciating.

Don't discount '96 model cars just because they are OBDII. With the 6 speed cars its as easy as changing the ECM and knock sensor to convert to OBDI. Plus the 96' 6 speeds all had the mighty LT4:banana:.

LT4's are nice, but I don't have any use for one right now.
What rear comes in the ZF6 equipped LT1 cars, the 8.5" Dana44? I think ZF6 LT1's have 3.45 gearing, which is great for daily driving. Although I wasn't aware they were so easy to pop. But if I understand you correctly it's more about the shafts... at what level should I worry or is it more about sticky tires like with the 10 bolt? The current motor would be around 450hp with no changes.
I'm looking for a fun daily driver that is something different and the more I read, the more I'm looking forward to burning up fuel in one...

Price to Modify -- Corvette Tax, nuff' said. It's gonna be more expensive for Corvette Specific parts (headers, exhaust, intake, etc.) Headers are 200-400.00 more than F body headers. Corsa exhaust is 1700.00. all other kits are close to F body.

All 6spd cars have the D44. Most of them came with 3.45 gears aswell. The main worry about the 6 spd cars are the dual mass flywheel. They are discountiued. The aftermarket offerings make for a noisey rattling noise. You will have to change to a push type clutch set up instead of the pull stock type.
The most expensive parts on the C4s the interiors. You are looking at 1000-1500 for a refresh.
Everything else is on par with good quailty F body parts.
Good luck with your search.

I forgot to mention that they made 2 ZF 6spds. They made a Blackc tag (german built) and a blue tag (USA built). 89-93 got the blacks and 93-96 got the blues. There is no telling when the blacks stopped and blues started in 93. The Blacks are noisier and stronger. The blues are quieter and weaker, but do shift smoother.

You do not have to change to a push style clutch. The reason you get the rattling noise, is because the easiest solution is to switch to a single mass flywheel, which takes away the dampening effect the DM flywheel gave (and why it was used), which then causes the trans to rattle at idle due to the gear teeth being straight cut, has nothing to do with the clutch itself.

All great info, glad to hear the ZF6 cars have Dana44's. I also heard about the blue and black tag transmissions, good info there as well. But I wonder if my Ram HD clutch from the T56 could be used, I read somewhere you have to have it milled down but it could work. It's grabby down low, but holds very nicely with a reasonable pedal.
I live near El Paso, TX, but thanks for the offer! I'm testing driving a C4 tomorrow that's in my price range, got some decent mods, but it's not the color or interior I prefer. The one I really like is in California, but if I don't fix overdrive in the truck I won't be towing that home anytime soon, I've spent all day screwing with it, now I'm down to the OD solenoid or a seal that pushed out.

What a lot of guys do, is they take a stock LT1 f body flywheel and have it milled 90 thousands because of clearancing issues caused by an unmolested unit. The only changes to the pressure plate you would need to make are to get the correct throw out bearing. Corvettes and F bodies have different bearings, but other wise, from what I've seen of other guys conversions, everything else should bolt right up and be good to go. I've also heard of guys getting stock 4+3 flywheels and having those bolt right in with no modification required.

I think you'd have to measure it, but I don't see a reason why it couldn't be made to work. The only thing you'd have to watch out for there is if it was for an externally or internally balanced engine.

I'd be using it on the same motor I already have. The motor from the 95 is set to go into the upcoming Vette, then the Camaro gets the Vette's stock motor and then sold.

You would either have to have the flywheel shaved 90 thou or clearence the clutch fork (it rubs with stock camaro flywheel and clutch disc. Have heard that running a stock corvette clutch disc will alleviate the rubbing) or there is another clutch fork pivot that is supposedly out there that will swap in and get the fork away from the PP.

I drove my first C4 today. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I needed to 'break the seal' and drive one before continuing my search. Long story short, I'm sold on them.
The car wraps around you but you can still view everything you need to. You guys talked about fitting three pedals down there. We'll it looked tight, but I never noticed it being cramped or a distraction while driving around. The ZF6 is much nicer to drive than the T56 in my opinion. The thing basically finds 3rd on it's own and is buttery smooth, everything I'd expect from a Corvette. The handling was far better than my 95 Camaro with a PHB/LCA/32mm sway. It almost begged to take turns at lose your license speed. I liked the interior and the way things were organized. The parking brake was weird, the way it retracts back down, but it makes sense. Even with a factory LT1 the car felt zippy. That combined with the weight and smaller size compared to a Fbody made it seem quick and responsive. I can only imagine what it'll be like with a 450hp LT1 up front. So I've got one picked out and tomorrow I'm going to make a final decision on it. I'll post up what happens.

That's part of the reason why I'm swapping a ZF into my firebird. Plus, being straight cut, they are far stronger than a t56. I also caught a deal, and I'm up about 250 bucks on the ZF vs having the t56 I sold out of my car built.

Pictures will go up here the day I own it.
The ZF6 surprised me, right from the 1-2 shift, then the 2-3 had me smiling. They were all smooth and positive feeling.
Yea, this one I like it gonna have to be a sight unseen deal. It's on the west coast and I just don't have the time to get out there and back. I'd like to trailer it, but shipping it directly is actually going to be cheaper and easier. I've talked to the seller A LOT over the last few days and he's provided me with pictures and proof of everything on the car.
It's a 1995 w/ZF6, all black interior, Z06 wheels, Goodyear tires, and aftermarket mufflers. Paint, panels, interior, seats, and molding are all good. I haven't gotten the final price squared away but right now we are under 6000. Without accounting for the extras we are already well under KBB value.

I hate to pass on the yellow one, it's a killer deal for a real nice car, but I honestly like the blue better. Problem is what are the realistic chances of finding a 94-96 Admiral blue, M6, black interior, in my price range even over the next 6-8 months... probably slim to none.

Ok, after lunch, I'll try that.
I suppose if I could get a yellow one for cheap compared to an admiral blue, I could always paint it at a later time. Just not sure how costly that would be. Of course I could probably save alot of money if I striped the interior and stuff myself... We've painted cars before, but just drag cars where mistakes are never seen or cared about.

When I wanted to redo mine...it wasnt cheap...but I was told to pull the bumpers myself, and that would make it quicker and cheaper... then it got backed into by an old guy, and I said F it... Its gonna be my "beater."

Yes it is, but I've always had a love/hate relationship with yellow cars. There are times I think they look awesome, then there are times they look horrible. It's odd, but it's just one of those colors for me. But, blues like Admiral and Royal blue are my favorite on just about ANY car. I've even thought about painting the silver car blue..

I hear you. Not like color really makes them worth any more. I do think yellow lowered on chrome zr1s looks good lol. I'm that way with orange though. Regular oranges look cheap to me. I hate them. Especially hugger orange. Almost every pickup and car in my area is painted "hugger" orange

This is true, it'd be getting the mild 350 I built swapped in, and that has a XE503 in it. I'm gonna call up the guy in NC, that's the closest thing to what I want. I'd prefer all black inside, but I can deal with grey or swap it later.
EDIT:
Basically we're down to this:
1995 Comp Yellow 5800 + 400 = $6200 [Got some paint damage and weather stripping issues, comes with Z06 wheels]
1992 Quasar Blue 6000 + 700 = $6700 [Owner wants to sell road race parts with car, everything else is good]
1995 Admiral Blue 7500 + 900 = $8400 [Price assumes I talk him down, bone stock, grey interior]
The second number is the approximate shipping cost to me.
I suppose if I want an Admiral blue car $2200 difference between the yellow and AB could be the price of a paint job and it would basically make the car brand new outside. You never know, the CY might grow on me. The interior is very nice and it's the exact style and all black color I prefer. It's being sold from a small dealer and the weatherstripping is so/so and it's got paint "spider webbed" under the clear coat near the rear bumper, but it's hard to see from 6 feet, and everywhere else it's prestine. Also found out it's been lowered [Thanks Larry]
http://ltxtech.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13994&d=1356897628
The Quasar blue is a good price for a color I like, but the is some 'paint oxidation'. The shipping bumps it up a little and I'd prefer the newer/black interior over the older '92/grey style. However the QB owner is an enthusiast and wants to cut me a deal on 17x11 wheels for all 4 corners, LT headers, road race sway bars, a McLeod flywheel [that I could use to retain my RamHD clutch], wideband, coil overs, C5 brakes, spare NT05 tires, spare Z07 front spring. The guy took care of the car and planned to road race with it. He got all the parts together then got injured and can't drive stick anymore.
http://ltxtech.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13993&d=1356897544
I'm currently making contact with people I know from NC to look at the AB one. The owner seems to have liked the car a lot but needs the money more than a Corvette. He claims everything is in very good condition for it's age, "8/10" and the paint is 'as good as you can get for 17 year old factory paint'. I'm awaiting more pictures and for my buddy to take a look at it in person. Problem is the distance and shipping costs. The higher starting price and shipping puts it pretty high in my price bracket, but it also has the lowest miles of all 3 at 120k.
http://ltxtech.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13995&d=1356897650
Basically this is the dilemma your in when you try to find the exact car you want that is 17 years old. You can only get about 70-80% of what you want and the rest you have to make happen. I'll be getting some paint quotes Monday morning for the yellow one, more pictures of the QB and AB ones, and hopefully my buddy can get a look at the AB one. I'm open to anyone's opinions, suggestions, and thoughts on these options.

That's crazy! PM me if it's not to far from you and you'd be willing to check it out for me and give me a true run down of it's condition. I'd even pay for fuel. Don't get me wrong that CY is definitely in your face, but my first and second vehicles were blue and I've always wanted another one. I like CY, but problem is I like AB more. Liking AB more and if the paint is great that could seal the deal. That CY is the best price though but I'm not sure how much it'd run me to fix the weather stripping and paint defects compared to the AB if it's in good condition overall.

NOW...
I was just thinking... have you thought about cutting shipping charges in half with a plane ticket and a drive back?
Bersaglieri
12-30-2012, 07:10 PM
Yes, I've considered it for all of them.
Flight to NC: 225 + 250 fuel/food [1700miles/25hours] = $475 - 2 days of my life
Flight to CA: 167 + 115 fuel food[750miles/10.5 hours = $282 - 1 day of my life
Flight to WA: 150 + 250 fuel/food [1700miles/26hours] = $400 - 2 days of my life
Nice thing is seeing the car in person, bad thing is the drive, especially from WA if I hit snow or wanted to bring the extra parts along. Loss of my weekend or vacation days and risk if issues along the way. I'm thinking about asking my coworker if he wants to get his Dodge Challenger or Charger [can't remember which] from Atlanta and we could drive back in tandem. That'd be a cool trip.
However the dealer idea sounds good, I'll going to call a few places in NC tomorrow if my buddy or Nuckinfuts can't make it. The problem is brokering the deals if I can't be there in person. I thought about doing a ebay auction, and the moment he lists it I 'buy it now' and we have at least the ebay contract. Really wish I had family there and I'd just send them the money, make the deal and arrange shipping later.

Well my current budget "garage" is a 25x35 pole building design. Saying it's frustrating to work in would be a gross understatement. It's got a gravel floor and was built by what I can only assume was a one-eyed one-arm carpenter. It came with the house/property. I wouldn't have a problem working on tractors in there, but after 2 Fbody motor/trans swaps, 6+ other transmission swaps, and countless hours of other auto work, I've decided to build a nice insulated steel frame garage. Right now the plan is 30x40 with a 12 foot ceiling, concrete floor, wood stove, A/C unit, and dual 10x10 doors. I'm going to have footers poured for a lift, but I'll source that used after the garage is up.

It's officially in my possession. The transport company messed up the time frame and put a dent the plans I had for my girlfriends birthday, but it's here. Although I wish I could have inspected it in the daylight like was planned, but I didn't see anything wrong that I didn't already know about. I had to leave dinner to meet the transport guy. It wasn't too bad, the guys all went and the girls kept on drinking while we were gone.
I drove it home 20 miles or so and I love the way it feels on the road. It drives, looks, and handles like a one time flagship of motor city. If I wasn't so dead tired I'd be bombing around town in it instead of posting here. But I'm beat, it's in the teens, and she wants to watch a movie. So it'll have to wait till tomorrow. Plus I think I have something in the brakes dragging, when I got home it could smell it, and no it's not the ebrake, at least not the lever. It doesn't pull either, so I'll have to take a closer look in the morning.
And yes the Competition Yellow has already started to grow on me.

I saw some K&N filter stickers and of course a big flat K&N filter in the front of the factory intake. I thought about changing this but remember reading many people say there was little or no gain to be had unless you did some sort of FTRA/SSRA style setup. Right next to the K&N sticker was a "This vehicle is equiped with a MSD blaster coil" and it was still there blasting away.
I checked the oil, it was pretty dark, so an oil change is in order. Then I checked for factory valve train..

The fronts are cross-drilled and the rears are slotted. Not sure how I feel about the yellow caliper, but I've got to see if my spare 98-02 Camaro brakes are an improvement over stock and/or will even fit these cars. If so the yellow ones will go on the shelf.
Not sure if you noticed or not, but the front tires are BF Goodrinch G-force and the rears are Goodyear GS-D3's. I had GS-D3's on my 1994 Z28 during it's daily driver days and those tires are awesome. I'm pretty sure the wheels are both 17x9.5, but I'll measure them tomorrow for sure.
The dealer said the car had an exhaust, but didn't know anything performance wise. Last night I could hear a little rumble but expected some junk turbo muffler. Negative, the exact exhaust wanted to put on there is what it showed up with:
http://ltxtech.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14222&d=1357530569
GMMG/Power-stick style chambered mufflers. Lightweight, great sound, unique, and excellent flow characteristics. They might be a little loud with long tubes and no cats, but I could always run some power-sticks in the mid-pipe area to calm it down. For now they sound pretty good. Upstream there is a resonator that looks like a factory dual in-dual out muffler. That's going to disappear for sure, especially while the car still has manifolds and cats.
My only complaint about the exhaust are the tips:
http://ltxtech.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14223&d=1357531845
I've never been a fan of quad tips, not sure why, but I prefer duals or dumps. My 94 and 95 Fbodys are dumped. But this is a Corvette, I can't dump them at the axle like primitive Fbody cars. So I'm thinking a GMMG style oval tips or factory rectangular ones. I figure factory ones should be easy to find, low key, and cheap. I've got to measure the pipe diameter to see what my options are.
The car needs an oil change and coolant swap. The oil is DARK and the coolant, well, has no antifreeze, looks like pure water. I'm going to check the differential and trans fluid levels and top then off if needed.
Oh wait, almost forgot. The shifter. It was listed with an "aftermarket shifter" but I have no idea what brand it is. But compared to the red C4 I drove this shifter is notchy. It's VERY tight and almost clicks into gear. I'm having a hard time finding the right words for it's feel, but it's different to me. Anyways, I slid the boot down and just got a picture of the stick. The shifter ball looks factory.

Congrats man.... Looks great...
Did you ever check the ebrake to see if it was hanging up?
Also, I don't think the calipers are interchangeable... but I like the yellow.... If you don't though, just shoot em silver or black and make them disappear.
I have the same chambered exhaust on my TPI... I love the sound... and the car even has a gutted cat....
CONGRATS AGAIN MAN!

Thanks Larry, not sure I would have pulled the trigger on one without the help of you and LTXtech

No, never got around to that, however I may move it into the garage and take a quick peek in a few.

I was thinking they maybe similar to the C5 brakes I see people upgrading to. If not I'll just sell them with my other spare Fbody stuff.

What do you have in the middle... I guessing it's called a mid-pipe area? Like I said earlier I've got Hooker longtubes on the way as well...
CONGRATS AGAIN MAN!
Thanks!

Thanks!
No sweat on the help... thats HOW WE DO here... lol
Ok, Im gonna admit... when I first got my vette, the way the ebrake worked, confused me, so I have never actually used it for fear that I would not be able to UN DO it... lol
And the exhaust on mine is a bit different because its an 85.... its comes off the manifolds into a Y that is an OVAL opening cat (which was gutted).... then single back a bit before breaking off in 2 again....
Love the use of YELLOW to respond.....

Looks sweet Brother! Its pretty clean for the miles. When looking into the brake, a little info. The 95 and 96 came standard with the J55 13" brakes. Replace the resinator with a X pipe. You pick up a lot of sound, for the good IMO.
Again, Congrats Bro!
Edit: That shifter looks like a B&M. If you remove the cover and it's anodized blue. It's B&M, plus they are the only one offered with a shiny shaft.
A lot of useful info and parts for the ZF 6 spd here.

Thanks Nuckin, I forgot that I've seen people use those Magnaflow cross sections. Any other advice on the exhaust? What diameter are those stock pipes, 2.75"?
On the brakes, is the J55 considered the "better" brakes for the C4's? Would a dual piston LS1 or C5 be a step up or just sideways?
B&M, excellent, same brand I have for my T56 and 4L80e. I'll see if the base plate is blue like the T56 one I've got.

Shifter pics.
As far as the brakes go, You won't notice the difference bewteen the J55 and the C5, for the money unless you open track the car. Just ditch them drilled rotors, get a set of slotted and a good set of pads. Yes J55 is the best brake factory offered on a C4.
I don't remember the stock exhaust pipe size, but they're lot of good and cheaper X's besides Magnaflow. I have a Pypes X and racepro's for my 95.
You have my Number, if you need anything.

Oh yea, with the flat sides on that shifter it's gotta be the B&M. Good hookup with the pictures.
Sounds like I'll just sell those 98-02 brakes for the fbody and invest it somewhere else.
I'll start looking around for xpipes.
I run Hawk HPS on my 1994 car, those have a good reputation for J55?
Thanks again Nuckin.

Best I could do for pypes X pic. The part # for a LT1 car is scc41R from pypes BTW. I forget the X part number. I'll look it up Later today.

$40 in pretty well priced. That with some straight pipe and a little bit of cutting... Might wait till the Hookers go in though, do it all at once.
What tips do you guys have your Corvettes? I think I might go stock rectangular. I've got stock rectangular Z28 tips in the garage but they are offset and won't work.

I like the stock tips. Good thing about your tips, I bet they would be an easy trade for stock.

Knocked out a few things today:
Made Vette ramps for my rhino ramps, oil Change, coolant swap, found a broken coolant temp sensor [passenger head], checked ZF6 fluid level, checked Dana44 fluid level, found out I'm missing the coolant overflow tank cap and measured the pipe, length, and width of this party crashing resonator.
Since the purchase is complete and the modding is about to begin, I think it's time for a new thread. Thanks to everyone for the help, I'll see you fellas over there...
