we seriously got an alert now from the school district saying that it is business as usual tomorrow and all the internet and in school rumors of apocolypse, zombies, massacres, and roits have been investigated and there will be increased security prescence in all the schools tomorrow...

Apparently parents are keeping kids home tomorrow and there is a general fear that the end is coming...

Its so ridiculous. On the other hand I did buy a couple boxes of ammo. About 150rnds 40s&w and 100rnds 12g. Not in fear of the end of the world but the crazy people out there that use stuff like this as an excuse to be stupid and violent. Just got done cleaning them and making sure the wife was still fluent with operating a pump just in case lol.

Be careful airing that out. If youre going directly through Olin for your shells and they find out you're selling them on the side, your shooting team will be shooting Remington. If the state finds out you're reselling tax exempt goods to a non tax exempt customer you'll be shooting for the state prison shooting team, and they ain't shooting clays brah.

The only thing that actually happens today scientifically is that the whole solar system passes through the galactic plane of the milky way. Doesn't mean anything bad will happen. But no one knew what could happen. All the other mumbo jumbo stuff is ridiculous.

Not to mention the Mayans calendar was made thousands of years ago.... and since then Julius Caesar implimented leap year. Which the Mayans did not account for since they were all dead. So the Mayans date of 2012 would have actually happened 9 months ago

The whole thing was never mean to predict the end of the world anyway, it just means the end of their "baktun" cycle and the beginning of a new one. The Mayans were just all about math and finding the patterns and cycles in the stars and such. As mentioned above, today just means we have a special galactic alignment and it won't happen again until the end of the next baktun cycle. Think of it like one full "revolution" of the galaxy if it helps, just the same as one full day on Earth = a full revolution around the sun.

After visiting the Mexican Riviera and the Coba Mayan ruins, it's funny how their calendar ever came to mean the end of the world. Our tour guide enlightened us that the Mayans did not believe that was when the world would end. That's simply when the calendar ran out. The reason he believes this is because he IS a Mayan. That's right, there are lots of Mayans in that region, who coincidentally speak Maya, the Mayan language. Spanish is actually the second language in some parts around there. The end of the world thing he said was western media hype, nothing more. But I'm sure he's been making a ton of money off of it leading up to today.

Im not dumb, i just hate school and i am uninterested in it. I do great in tech school. But my core classes are what get me every time.

I hear you on that - once I deemed a class to be "unnecessary" it was hard for me to pass. Like Philosophy of Ethics -- took 4 tries to pass it because I was so uninterested in participating in the class. All it was was debating ethical problems with no truly right answer.

I almost failed Geometry in 9th grade. I got a 13% on a test and he said I could re-take it... I re took it and got a 36% (I think)
