Here are a few pics..
The 3.4 motor-unfortunetly i wanna keep this motor because i paid too much to just let it go like that. I will however make it run faster. Or if you guys give me some feedback on what motor would be best to upgrade to or what do i need to beat an SS i might change my mind. I just wanna smoke an SS.

This is how my car looks now-yep, its too much chrome for me now:), it was kinda cool when i was in H.S. but now that I've seen a Camaro with C6 Rims close to where i live, i guess you can say i was a little envious hehe, so im saving up for C06 Wheels. Dont worry soon they will be long gone :)
1366513670
These three pics where taken after i took my car for a complete motor rebuilt for the first time. I dont have pics of it when i first bought it but all i know is that the crank had like grinding sound and that a piston was fried. it was horrible it almost sounded like a diesel. and since i had the money i was like oh what the heck go for it

And this last picture is clearly how i want my car to look like!

That's a pretty tall order with a 3.4. If you look around online, there are plenty of people who have experimented with that engine, and put down some good numbers, for what it is, but unless you are going to pour a #$@&load of money into it, you're probably not going to get the results you are looking for. Aftermarket support for the 3.4's is extremely limited, they are not very popular engines.

Yes, i've herd that any bolt-on or any mod is super expensive for that engine. And to be honest i dont have those deep pockets for her:/ at this time. Well at least let me know what i would need to beat what seems to be a stcok SS in the near future bro. Would i be able to get something that is comparable to a stock ls1 with a t56 tranny and diff all together with lets say 1500 bucks

Highly, highly doubtful man. And you would be doing EVERYTHING yourself. 1,500 will get you some nice bolt ons, but don't expect to whip an otherwise stock SS on that budget. You have 140 fwhp deficit to overcome, and that v6 will never match the torque curve of an LT1. The stock heads and intake manifold are a SEVERE flow restriction and would have to be heavily modified or replaced with the aluminum heads off of a fwd 3x00.

Welcome to the site man! There's tons of great info here, just gotta search around and read everything you can.
I'm not sure how similar your 3.4L is to my old '92 Lumina's 3.4L LQ1, but I have a love/hate relationship with that engine (and the car..). I hate working on it, yet somehow I always convince myself to just fix it instead of getting rid of the old hunk of junk. Damn thing takes a beating and keeps on ticking though, can't tell you how many times I've practically tried to kill the car by running it till the wheels fall off, and yet it just drives itself home anyway. :jest: Oh I have some neglect/abuse stories with that car...
Anyway, hope it goes better for you with the Camaro! I still think you'd have a lot more fun with an LT1 swapped in though. ;)

Well first of by the look of that car you mentioned it might had been an old hunk of junk:) but trust me..i will make my 3.4 the badest 3.4's out there, im not planning on beating v8 with it. I just want to atleast reach what a v8 can do stock form and not fail hehe, like many other ppl on YT that comment on v6 camaros. And as much as it sound good on swapping it, it was a my first car and just wanna make proud and show the person that bought it for me that i made it much better. and by neglet/ abuse stories i have no idea what you mean lol but i think i can relate once i got stranded 10 miles away from my housecuss it wouldn't start, i mean it cranked over but just wold not start. Toed it, toe truck dropped it off hours later and i tried to start it up and started up like nothing was wrong with it. haha and till this day cant find the problem but got a feeling its fuel pump.
Nope not ganna happen, if i swap anything it will be an LSx but i doubted i rather buy onther Camaro
just joined in hopes on getting people that know their shit to help me out on this motor by their experience before going to an actual shop and getting ripped off, i know a couple ppl that do this kinda stuff but i would like to have the knowledge that they already have to have a better understanding..

If a guy was dead set on staying with a v6 the 3.8 is probably the best platform to mod. Lots of aftermarket and decent prices. But being a 3.4 I would just rock it stock. Make it look nice and save up for a v8 conversion.

Haha actually when I got the car it wasn't a hunk of junk, but I was 17 and it was a first car. I used to take damn good care of it cleaning it and making sure it got regular tune ups and such, but then after a few years, it turned into a giant car-magnet for some reason and a bunch of idiot drivers kept running into me... Sooo, what was once a nice looking candy apple red 1992 Lumina Euro 3.4L with a sparkling clean engine now has a black non-painted hood and front bumper, a dent and paint chip the size of a silver dollar in the front right fender, and 2 junkyard blue driver's side doors. At this point it's so far gone I've lost the will to try to keep it in good condition. :(
Abuse stories, well, I've taken it off-road a few times, curb-hopping, jumping it off deep dips in intersections, etc. lol. And in return for how I treated it, it got its revenge when the A/C quit working and I got to suffer through 4 wonderful summers of up to 110 degrees before I could afford my TA haha. Just goes to show car karma is real enough :jest:
Neglect stories, once it got to that point, I started looking for a new car and just flat out ignoring my Lumina. It's always had a problem with burning off oil and I've driven it till it was practically bone-dry multiple times just to avoid putting any more money into it. The "geniuses" at Chevrolet in their infinite wisdom designed the engine to have the alternator on the bottom, so it doesn't get any airflow and burns itself out every couple years thanks to Texas summers. Hell, just recently I finally got around to replacing the front driver side wheel bearing that had been making a grinding noise for the past year (again, just didn't want to put money into it). By the time I pulled the wheel bearing off, the housing had cracked clean in 2 pieces and the wheel was literally about to fall off LOL. I could go on and on complaining about that car, but it's mainly because the finicky bitch always chooses either the hottest or coldest day of the year to break down on me. :(

You can pick up an ltx setup for the $1500 mark but you will be hard pressed to find an lsx setup for that money. You would be looking in that range without accessories or a wiring harness. Or atleast last I looked it was that way. I've seen ltx with wiring harness and all go for around 500-700 around here. 6spd will cost you around 600-800 atleast for a full setup. Looking at 1100-1500 I found a 3.42 rear for $125 and I've sold a full 6spd setup for $500 so it is possible.

^^^^^ This.
Plus since you seem keen on the idea of building up a V6 to run with a stock V8, it sounds like you enjoy the underdog game already. Why not go LTx if you do ever swap and make it outrun LSx cars? There's a fun sense of accomplishment in that.

I say if your hell bent on keeping it a v6. just make your car nice and sport it stock. the 3.4 top end is a bad design for anypower production. even with upgrading and port work.
By the time you get it to a stock ls or LT status. you will be enough money in. to build a 400 rwhp LT1. and still have money in your pocket. and like said before the 3.4 will never match the power curve of a V8.
welcome to the site.

I've seen videos of a f150 and an 80s early 90s dodge caravan outrun a 3.4 Firebird. If anything like stated before make it a really nice car and drive it. I wouldn't waste money on a 3.4 IMHO. Not trying to bust your balls we are trying to help you out and save you money so you do end up with something you will be happy with. If you get a built 3.4 to stock lt1 status all the lt1 needs is full exhaust and a tune and you will just watch it's taillights pull away.

alright, i have put some thought into it.. i have heard that the ls1 motors are one of the best and it will be a great sense of accomplishment to build an lt1 that it could outrun it. i'll be looking into that man.

Don't believe all of the ls1 hype. They are a great platform and I'm not denying that but ltx is also a good platform. I had full exhaust (longtube headers, off road y pipe, and a corsa catback) and a pcm4less mail order tune and I beat alot of stock or slightly modded ls1 fbodies and devastated a ls1 and ls2 gto. Not saying it was the fastest thing around but for $800 I was hurting feelings in an otherwise stock ws6 and it can be done cheaper than I did it.
