I was going to order my rod and main bearings today and noticed that there is a different kind of bearing than the copper played ones, just wondering if I should buy the aluminum alloy bearings instead?

Thanks, Chris

Man that was 20yrs ago :(

Amazing isn't it? We were talking about something at work and everyone was like, "ya that was like 8-9 years ago I think", another guy goes "ya it wasn't that long ago". Then we looked it up, 1995, everyone got quiet as the old man feeling sank into our bodies...

I also need to buy my ring set, but the guy at the machine shop told me that since I just had it honed I have to buy cast rings and not the chromoly rings? Is that true, if so what rings should I get, it's standard bore.

Stock pistons? Mahle sells the factory rings.

Mahle has a good reference book PDF somewhere, I used that to find the rings for my stock rebuild. Double check my work cause it's been a long time since I bought them. Ring thicknesses look right though.

Yes those should be fine even with a decent amount of nitrous.

dont be afraid of clevite 77 bearings i run them in everything i build nothing wrong with them........as for bearing material there are different bearings for different applications some bearings are harder than others......remember a bearings job is to take damage first BEFORE the component thats in it
