I'm rebuilding mine in a couple weeks. It'll be my first time doing major ac work. It really doesn't seem too bad to replace everything and set it up, but it sure sucks not having cold air in a car where the whole top half is glass.

This week I responded to a domestic at a residence. The first time it was verbal... the second time it was physical. It was between mother and 15 year old son.
The boy was one of my students two years ago while on SRO duty. He has some special needs... a whole bumch of dr assigned acronyms and he knows he has anger issues. Im school it was clear that mom did not want him anymore and she looked for any way she could get rid of him (he was 15 then).
She has a younger son that is clearly her favorite and this kid has no self esteem from constantly being berated by his mother.
Convinced him to go for a psych eval on the second call I had at the residence because i knew he was gonna just get in more trouble if he stayed there.
Made arrangments for mom to drive him there but they were told to do it in silence... (didnt want to dispatch and expensive ambulance ride).
Anyways... before my partner and I cleared (was near shift change)... she says to us...
"I cant even call CYS... they told me if I do... its the good one they will take (refering to her favorite son), and they will leave the bad one here" (pointing at her 15 year old).
SHE IS THE PROBLEM... SHE IS THE REASON HE IS LIKE THIS!!! He does not possess the coping skills to deal with constantly being made to feel like he is not worth shyt while his younger brother is on a pedestal.
Thats my rant... going on day 2 and hoping he is still following my advice and getting the help he needs.

I'm gonna tell you the same thing I tell everyone else. Old equipment properly installed will last a long time, it was originally designed to last 25-30 years. All the new stuff is junk and only made to last 10-15 years. That's if ur lucky tbh. And new stuff isn't cheap. If you update now ur lookin at a solid 7-10k for a decent system.
Actually that grinds my gears. R22 is a great refrigerant, 410a blows and can't handle the temp ranges like 22 can, but the epa is phasing it out due to ozone depletion. Well guess what, 1) China is the cause of most ozone depletion and 2) 410a damages the atmosphere WORSE. dumbass epa

Same thing with stationary speed cameras. They know they are there, but even if they are doing the speed limit or below they want to make darn sure they aren't speeding, by golly. What I love are the geniuses who slow down for warning signs that display mph.

Depends on the state. I don't care if there are cars going significantly slower and are actually in the far right lane, however around here there are yahoos tooling along in the fast lane going the same speed as everyone else with their hazards on. When that happens and it's difficult to see out of the windshield you don't know who is going slower or stopped. It also takes away from signal lights.

I actually think it's illegal here to drive with your 4 ways on. I see people running them around here when it rains, even when it's not a very heavy rain. It's kinda annoying, but not as annoying as the people who get in minor collisions (almost no damage to either car) and they stop in the middle of rush hour traffic and stand in the middle of the road by their parked cars.

I click my 4 ways on In any major hill or any serious storm or icy roads where I have to drive dead slow in my semi... I love watching people come around me going 60 on black ice and go in ditches. I honk and smile and waive lol . I have seen some brutal crashes in my semi . Last year was on pure black ice from flint to Lansing going 20 mph with my pdl and diff locked. Had this guy come around me going probably 55. I looked over as he was directly perpendicular to me looking at me and he clipped my front bumper by a cunt hair and rolled it about 7 times right In front of my truck.

Traveling along with the flow of traffic and clowns everywhere have their hazards on regardless of occupying lane I suppose it makes perfect sense to slow down and cause more of a hazard for those behind if you want to throw common sense out the window. Here it is illegal unless signifying a hazard, which again, if there is no logic to this one could possibly argue that being in the fast lane with the hazards on while changing lanes with no signal lights could be an indication of a hazard.

I can see this being an issue with the traditional tow trucks when pulling a vehicle from behind, but for a rollback it really doesn't matter and some of the newer trucks have obnoxiously bright/flashy wig wags. Keep them on while stopped and turn them off once moving is what I say by gosh golly!

Most rigs can't do much more than 55-60 area and or, people out on the road suck at driving. I could be standing next to a rig with every light on, enough light to blind the population of NYC and still, you have passer by drivers swerve into you.

It's not like the car becomes an appendage. Even when loaded it's still a part of the truck. I got into a race with one when it was loaded with a car while in my Geo Metro beater several years ago and got stomped. They are very capable of keeping up with the flow of traffic. Maybe the ones in your Jersey Shore area are turd piles? To simplify: No issues with lights on while picking up a car/stopped on the road. Once on the road at speed with the rest of traffic, turn them the hell off. For wreckers, keep all lights on all the time. I couldn't care less.

Must be a regional thing. The ones around here do just fine at highway speeds. It's a great advantage at a light too. Everyone gets out of the lane to avoid being behind a loaded truck yet they always seem to beat everyone else to the punch making it easy to get in front of the brainless, phone chicken pecking mob of dumbness.

Im good as long as Im in the car or in the office... but let me tell you... when something happens out on the roadway, and you are standing on top of the black top with all of this gear... it roasts from under and above. lol
I actually skipped my workout today, because I wanted to save as much energy... and stay hydrated. IDK if it will help... but at least its a hot MIDNIGHT shift...

Cheap ass refinery IT departments. Took me most of a day to get an instrument up and running in their lab. Should have taken a couple hours tops...

AT&T. God I'm really mad at them right now. I'm trying to access my father's account to cancel his subscription. I can't because: 1) I don't know what his 4 digit pass code is, and 2) I have no idea what his favorite restaurant is since he ate anything!
I know if I was trying to resubscribe, this would not be a problem. I told the last lady that there isn't anything I can do to contact him (it's complicated) and we don't want to pay his $170 bill. I almost got the security question's answer out of the second to last guy because he felt bad for my situation.
I understand there are laws to protect him and other people. But when I have his name, address, phone number and account number, I should have access to his account with the situation I'm in. I don't understand why you need all of this when you are trying to cancel an account. Ugh ridiculous.
How many people even have the last name Dalessandro... It is terrible. Not as terrible as the Tiger's bullpen, but hell it is getting there!

I went in on my day off to interview the victim of a sexual assault. He is ober 30 years old and mentally retarded. Je was abused by family sinc ehe was 10 years old till 25. Watching the pain in his face as he answered my questions tore me up inside. The things that he endured top all of my cases till now as the depts child sexual abuse "specialty" investigator. The things family could do to family and live with themselves.

I think its been proven that because a penalty is more strict, it does not reduce the crime. Unfortunately the majority of people who commit crimes feel that THEY will NEVER be caught, so a more severe penalty does not affect their decision to do the crime.
I do agree that the death penalty should be the penalty since i do not believe there is any reform to this "sickness." No matter how long in jail... when released, they are still the same sickos that they were when they went in.

Ugh... this summer has been rough. Currently working an adult rape case and the abuse and sexual abuse of 2 year old... as if that was not bad enough had to deal with seing a 2 month old beaten up. Flown to CHOP and found to have broken ribs... fractured orbital, strained joints... and those were just the preliminary findings.
Im not a parent but I still have no idea how a person can do any of this to other people much less children, and even more to their own children or family... i know many will be angry when they read this but honestly it does not even make me mad anymore... it makes me so disgusted I feel sad... i feel so drained from it. This is our society... our future and its all circling the bowl.

Lot's of things. We had a guy less than a year ago kill his girlfriend with a screwdriver because she left him. He stabbed her 40 odd times, raped her corpse, and then tossed her into a river. He tried saying it was a crime of passion. There haven't been very many murders were I live, but nearly all them were along the lines of someone killing their "lover" because he/she left him/her.

Yep gas prices suck 2.99 a gallon when it should be under 2 dollars a gallon and the government here in Michigan wants to raise the gas tax another 20 cents a gallon to fix are crap roads . We already paid for the roads but they spent that money somewhere else. Hahaha that grinds my gears

I got to laugh because when I was in my early teens, my dad would complain about taking me and my siblings to the local Boys and Girls Club because of the price of gas (back then it was at a high of $1.29). Now, it's common place to see it $2-3. The lowest I can remember it being was $.79 a gallon

I miss filling up on 10 buck or so . The funny thing was i don't ever remember being concerned about gas it was cheap , even for 93 . I did work 2 jobs in high school so i had cash but still we went all over the place with are foot on the floor.

Normally i just take a light dose of melatonin every night. Nice easy sleep. But for those I CANT SLEEP nights I have Zzz Quil. 15 min after a shot and i can barely keep concious.

The only prob with the mr is ur taking a narcotic to assist and that can cause u issues. How much melatonin do u take? When i do... its 9 to 12 mg which is 3 or 4 3mg pills.

Its our society that im worried about. In this job i get the opportunity to look straight into the lives of soooo many people, and its a horrible place out there... and getting worse.

If the sky falls, there is enough in savings to adjust my lifestyle. My wife and I could have bought a much more expensive home but we didn't want to get one we could barely afford. We know many couples who bought the biggest they can afford but are budgeted to $3 for lunch. Their life, their priorities. Don't rack up the credit cards and do not over extend yourself. Having no kids helps too.

I dont mind helping the needy people... but when they are getting section 8 housing on our dime then a navigator in the driveway... 60" tvs... the latest 250 dollar Jordans... weed or other drugs... etc, etc, I get pissed.

Agreed that im usually dealing with criminal activity... however ovee 14 years ive dealt with these people/families for non criminal.
One example;
one of the two babies I delivered was in our section 8 community.
Ill have to take parking lot picture in the neighboring twps housing areas.
U wont believe the $$$$ that is parked out there, and the entire community is section 8.
Again... i have no problem helping those in NEED. but dont have a nicer car than me when im working and paying for ur ride.
Just like recently there has been a boom in families wanting to become foster parents. I think its great... some of them are even people in the section 8 programs and I still tthink its great... but then u have those few that ask certain questions that make my blood boil?
-how much do i get to do this foster thing?
-how many kids can i foster at one time?

Which as we all know, are bogus, 65% of the time. Either way, it drives me nuts when either side white washes the other in broad strokes, its never like that across the board.
All you have to do is drive around and see whats going on, I mean its right in your face and that's what most of the moochers intend to do bc us the taxpayer pays there rent and utilities so they can live comfortable enough in there brick homes and invest all there non taxed money into things not needed. example is my gmother of 62 years old pays all her bills with no help but the govt will only give her like $25 a month so she can eat, yet you can have 4 kids and get your bills payed for you and get 100s of $ for food and most can walk and jump just fine enough to work. Just my opinion but watch how well the person in the grocery store line in front of you next time can get around.

Dude didn't have a limp till he got inside the building and was at the office door.....nevermind the ones coming from other countries for "emergency assistance".

People who don't do the speed limit (25mph) down my road. My dog got hit today (she's okay) by a guy in a truck. Now, in the guys defense, who by the way, just kept driving, my dog shouldn't have been on the road, but I live in a very rural area, so every one lets their dogs room freely, mostly because we all have big yards. At the same time, he shouldn't have been doing 40+ mph down the road, especially since kids do play near the road and their are signs that say "Watch Children" and "Kids at Play". We had a cop sit in my uncles drive way two years ago. They pulled over so many people, they had to set up a second cop to keep up.

U make some great points. In the driver's defense tho, it does not matter how rural the area, dogs running into the street and causing an accident would come back on the dog owner as fault.

Holy shit. The parking at my school, Oakland University sucks big balls. Not only is there barely enough parking places, the ones that have open spots are on the other side of the campus. I had to park a ways away.
But you know what is worse than the parking? The people who drive here. I was almost hit about 8 times. Mainly from people trying to turn in front of me. We have a roundabout here, nobody can fucking use it properly and it drives me bananas. Nobody yields. I sat today and watched 15 cars just blow past the sign while they can see me sitting there looking like I got a banana up my ass because I'm so dumbstruck by the ignorance. Grinds my gears boys, grinds my god damn gears.
Campus/city police is great though! They know me by name because I was pulled over last year daily for two weeks straight. So now they wave at me and sometimes ask me how my day is going.
And the rice.. I'm not gonna continue with that one...

I'm not so sure, as someone who runs 78/287/80/gsp daily in thru jersey, alot of you guys are absolute IDIOTS. I'm allowed to say that since I've held a jersey drivers license for 5 years at one time. Keep right dumbass, honking ur horn doesn't make stopped traffic move, and how many do I see literally stopping in the middle lane because they missed their exit. It's a jersey thing to back up an off ramp too

It does make for some annoying travel when u want to boogie. I still wouldnt say thats a pa thing. Its more of a "selfish" thing, no matter what state.

When I went to MetLife stadium a while back I spent a few hours on the turnpike. Cruising speed was roughly 80-85. I loved it. The tolls on the other hand were fucking brutal.

My 02 gmc seirra 4x4 grinds my gears. I do love this truck and it's what I've wanted for year's but my god it's rusting to dust . And i have this terrible falling apart noise and washboard feeling going over bumps ( I'm pretty sure that is my steering shaft and my torsion bar crossmember mount bushings . Gm really failed these trucks on the corrosion protection or piss poor metal.

I picked up some Taiwan panels . The replacement rockers are very thick steel atleast 18 gage . If i can't get the terrible ride fixed im going to sell it . My 2000 didn't have this ride issue . I did all pre bent stainless brake lines when i first got it 2 year's ago and recently i just redid the front suspension and brakes .

Yea i just recieved my stainless brake lines yesterday actually so thatll be happening very soon and im gonna replace cab corners and rockers this winter. Just put new bumper and brackets on and front suspension/ steering 2 weeks ago. My truck runs great, rides great even with 33s, just the rust is getting out of control!

Them stainless line's are awesome, they hold up well.
Mine riad great when i first got it but now even after all new front end parts it's better but still bad , i looked at the torsion bar crossmember mount bushings today and one of the sleeves spun in the bushing and its definitely toast so hopefully that fixes the issue . I'm running 285s

Well the wifes car (Genesis TRACK) got hit at work tonight. A co worker claims she sneezed and hit the gas... rammin her benz into the wife's car. What GRINDS MY GEARS is that she left the scene... she then returned later to tell the owner of the car whom she claims she didnt know was my wife. As if the fact that she left wasnt bad enough... she tells my wife there is no damage, and she will pay for it. When the wife gets home... i checked it out... bumper skin is creased... torn and rolled in. Rolled in leads me to believe the bracket is bent. The front of the fender is slightly pushed in... however... to compensate for the front being pushed in... the fender buckled outward at the 12 oclock position over the front wheel.
Im curious to see how she reacts when i have an estimate delivered to her.
