When i lived in my apartmebt... I HAD a mouse issue. But the violent traps would make a mess... So...id use large jars...and boxes...and set the trap inside them with bait... That way..splatter and cleanup is contained inside.

So I am trying to explain how friendship works to Brandon(my soon to be 16 year old.) His generation I don't think gets it. I told him, a real friend will let you vent and have a bad day and not say "you think you are the only one with problems? I have them too but, but i don't tell you" and then "unfriend" you on Facebook. A real friend will help you out in a pinch and you will do the same or greater for them. They will not let you hang and only be there when it is convenient for them, and then text you a pissy message because you "bothered" them. A real friend will see you again in 20 years and may not immediately recognize you, but when they do it will be like 20 years never passed. They will not play dumb and just walk on by, and then post something on Twitter about them thinking that saw some jerk from back in the day.
Lord knows i am not and was not always the perfect friend, but the ones that understood me and stood by me are still doing the same today. We may not see each other all the time, but they know i will drop anything for them in an emergency and not expect anything in return. I think Brandon's generation has lost touch with what "real" is. They do not talk on the phone, they text. You CAN NOT convey emotion through text messages. They think that Drama is the norm, how could they not (insert rant on Reality TV here.) With them it is all about what can you do for me, and it breaks my heart. I know everyone has issues, but if everyone keeps it bottled up and does not talk to their friends about it, it festers and bad things happen. I am blessed to have the friends (and family) I have. I am doubly blessed that they know that I am not perfect but accept me for who I am. I fear that Brandon's generation puts way too many conditions on friendships. To all my friends, Thanks for being there and I love all of you.

If you call me for help, shut the fuck up so I can do my job and help you. Screaming and carrying on doesn't make the ambulance go faster and it actually slows me down. On average, from the time I say 911 to having a unit enroute is under 40 secs. There's a reason I ask so many questions, this isn't 1962 and you can pick up the phone and say send an ambulance; I'm trying to figure the multitude of symptoms that you just spit out in 7 seconds and what a priority. Trying to get off the phone quick and being ignorant so you can open the door before they get there is pretty stupid when you live 20 mins in the middle of fucking no where. The 4 mins of instructions I have to give you will help or save them and you being in a hurry almost cost your family member their life.

I understand I view "emergencies" in a different light but keeping your shit together long enough for me to do my job efficiently is in your benefit. Don't think I don't have and compassion...I have more than most but there's a time to be serious and get to work.

Thats what I figured... they got the first motor from texas speed...installed it...and it was getting low oil pressure...down to 8 amd the 2010 camaro was doing a message to shut the car off. Texas sent a new oil pump..and other stuff...nothin fixed it...so it was pulled and sent back...new one came...and doin this...but because its not trippin the message in the car...I think they are goin for it...and im worried for him.... but what do I know. Btw...its a boosted application...and they are shooting for 15# plus....

RANT OF THE DAY: People... when your parents get old... look out for them. They may want their independence, and may think they know best, but in reality, with age comes alot of deterioration... Not just physical, but mental. I just cleared a call from the home of a 90 ish year old man. He called 911 because he has internal bleeding, and it was finding its way out of him. That is not the point... the point is, he lives by himself, in a 3rd floor apartment, in the middle of no where, and the only entrance and exit is two flights of rickety outdoor stairs, then a flight inside... Inside the apartment he has one cat...however by the smell and look, you would think there was 100 cats. The living conditions are sub human, the facitly is not "elderly friendly," and yet this is how he lives. Look out for your parents people...they looked out for you for a long time (yes ys, I know there are situations out there that do not support this rant, but in general)... RANT OVER.

I had a rolling domestic call where the female gave dispatch information to believe that she and her infant child were being taken against their will amd her baby daddy was refusing to stop. I busted my ass and risked myself and many other people on the road pushin my tahoe in an attempt to catch up to them as her delayed locations that she was giving dispatch were one hell of a head start. Utilizing 5 other officers...4 other jurisdictions we picked em off and got them 2 jurisdictions away. ..... here is where I get pissed. Baby daddy... .106 bac (dui)....mom... the victim... .06 bac and downed a bottle of robituson... still warm marijuana bowl found later under their car where we had the male sitting... (he admitted then to smoking earlier)... I dont give a fuck if u wanna polute urself... but to create the scene u did becasue u were delusional from meds... cough syrup and beer... followed by the fact that ur (This november the infant will be 1) child was also in the car.... then u want to look at me and say "im a good mom" fuck u bitch... uniform or not... I cussed that bitch out right there in front of all of cvs ...the public... her parents who came out to the scene...and the cops. And ripped her a new one. Unproffessional...? Absolutley. I fucken lost it... but when I was done... I actually heard some words of praise from strangers and a quick applause from another. Even her dad...thanked me and shook my hand.... and he told me...he and his wife took legal custody of her last child.... becasuse of neglect.

Im so disgusted typin this makes my eyes water thinkin about that cute little girl.

Mom was so blitzed that as we talked (before I skitzed) I watched baby crawl...about 10 feet away..to the curb to the parkinglot asphalt (which was very hot) before I scouped her off the ground... just for the sake of seeing how capable mom was... she was NOT.

I did college and work as well as family all at the same time and it was rough. I got a lot of my school work done late at night when everybody was sleeping and I would take a break and go look at them sleeping and think all is right with the world. I had a boatload to deal with but i also could see what all this was going to do for us all and even though it was rough and I had people depending on me it was all worth it. Keep banging away and remember what the endgame is all about and it will help because the old saying goes "nothing good is easy because if it was everybody would be doing it". Working in Oil & Gas, especially off shore drug tests are a part of the job. You take many and think nothing of them. Today I had to take a random for work along with a breathalyzer, they find some place kind of near me. Go in the front, the lady behind the reception counter noticed the forms in my hands and says out loud if you're here for a drug test you have to go to the other building. She said it loud enough for every one around me to hear as well. Not embarrassed that I have to take drug tests but jesus christ have some better manners than to announce it to every one in the lobby.

Socioeconomic, lifestyle choice, and race have nothing to do with what our mission should be. It is time to start telling it like it is, embracing each other, and working to the goal that we all have to accept - We are not here just for ourselves. Stop being an easily led sheep following the leaders with hidden agendas, stop allowing others to influence your thoghts, stand up to the injustices, help you neighbors instead of trying to one up them, turn off the noise, and listen to the heartbeats of your friends and loved ones... after all that is what it is all about. I know lawyers have a job 2 do. One of my good friends is a defense atty. Hell I first met him, losing against him in court. He's good at what he does... Anyways, Im prepping for some court time where a defense atty wants to challenge why it took so long to arrest and bring his client to trial. See, this great nation of ours says that bad guys have a right to a SPEEDY TRIAL, and I have no issue with that. But this pos (some may remember the links to this case) took an 86 year old man in my twp for over 100k. It started out with the BS paving crap..then he just kept coming back. My investigation started in 2010, and we went round and round...getting stood up on interview appointments... having attorneys contact me and the victim to make restitution...stall after stall after stall but all in the pursuit of the investigation... the defendant would go MIA for months on end, but his attorney would act as though things were being finalized. I finally had enough in the end of 2011, early 2012 and filed the arrest warrants...and he went off the grid. Even got the county to approve extradition from further out, that is usually not approved... finally at the beginning of this year he was picked up and brought to PA. HE MADE BAIL ($300k cash) and the ball was rolling for his day in court later this year. Now I need to go on front of a judge, accused of not giving this mutherfukn piece of shit his speedy trial in an attempt to have the whole case tossed. I followed the book to the letter... i worked with the resources amd schedule and time I had (even while out on injury on my own time)... & all I can think is the defense atty made this ploy being a good atty for his client... but damn man... how would u feel if my victim was your father or gfather, taken advamtage of because he is old and a bit "off." Losing everything so some pos could live high on the hog...

They only thought it was talking on the radio and not making calls to notify other counties, aviation or DOT units, and pulling equipment lists to get ready for additional requested resources. When your neighbor thinks he needs to ad a property line marker , for some reason puts it a foot onto my property , right in front of the actual maker that's still very visible and then leaves his trash there also . Being sick while on vacation...

Got my infusion yesterday...(3hour process) usually something i look fwd to, as its been progressivly been helpin me get my condition under control, however i learned something new yesterday... the infusions have a very high probability to make an infection or "cold" worse in most cases. I have been fighting something and on antibiotics for a few days and was feeling better, but i had to roll the dice as skipping my infusion means a relapse for my condition.....welllll. the odds were def not in my favor... the infusion along with what ive been fighting had put me on my ass. Face has gone congested... every joint is in hideous pain and stiff... Every joint in my body feels like bone on bone from my neck to my toes and now a fever as well....

To make things worse... as to not keep Mrs Popo8 up all night since she had to work... i spent the last two nights sleeping on the couch downstairs so she could get a good nights sleep... soooo now my back is out (2011 work injury) the way it used to go out.

Finally... my best man (and friend) & his gf invited us over for New Years tonight... first time in uears we actually had plans...and idk if im contageous... idk if ill even be good enough to move to go and have fun... blah!

Let me preface this rant (it is a long one, sorry) with the fact that I love my job and the people I work with and I am so very happy to be employed. This rant is not about any particular business or company, it is just my observations over the past 19 years of my career.
I went to a great high school that was to prepare me for the world. Perhaps it made me a bit naïve to the harsh reality that people, if given the ability, can be very selfish and mean. My Salesian schooling along with my Catholic upbringing made me want to see and believe in the good in people. I went to school for business and industrial engineering. I have a graduate degree and have worked very hard for 18 + years. I like to work with my hands and make things. I have worked on many high tech projects in the composites and photovoltaic world. I invented and went to patent on several processes that were used for some of the best PV in the world at the time. I worked long, hard hours in some very dangerous conditions. I worked around hazardous metal powders, extremely high temperatures, and unproven methods. Never once did I think that I was doing the wrong thing. Also during that time I had a family and I worked on many other labor intense projects like cars and houses. I did it mainly for the experience (learning from my dad, mom, aunts, and uncles) and because I enjoy doing those things. It was kind of my therapy. I felt a level of success and fulfillment in a hard day working. I didn't mind bloody knuckles, splinters, bruises and the occasional real injury. It all builds character and makes me who I am, every scar, every story, every memory. I have some amazing stories and have worked with some amazing and intelligent people. Some of our antics seemed fictional, but I assure you they are all real.
Throughout all this I always wanted to run a business of my own. For a short time I did consulting for the PV world and had my custom cabinetry and metal working business. Later on I work closely with the day to day business of a small PV supplier. I soon realized that although being my own boss was great, the no benefits and uncertain pay was not worth the risk with a wife and 2 kids. I learned a lot in those years, like dealing with customers, vendors, suppliers, logistics, etc. Although there were tough times, I am grateful for every moment. So back to working for someone else….
So to the point of all this. I still do not understand what they are teaching in “business ethics” classes at places like Wharton and the ilk. I have worked for old established companies and startups both. All of them have had one thing in common so far – Nebulous ethics. Believe me, they talk a good game. They are all Fairy tales and gumdrops to their shareholders (of course) but the general unwashed masses sometimes see the darker side. They see the side of cutbacks, layoffs, lack of capitol for growth, unrealistic goals, the enacting of wasteful programs to “help” the business, poor raises, promoting the inept, and the list goes on. It is all guised as helping the business pay back dividends to the shareholders. The real truth is that it is cost cutting for the sake of filling the coffers and job creation for more privileged people. If it was not for the factory workers, the technicians, the engineers, the inventors, the designers, etc.. there would be no products (or services) for a business to sell: Er go no return to the shareholders because there would be no profit at all. I appreciate all the people that are stock and shareholders, they are what makes it possible for businesses to get started. I just wish they were on the ground floor seeing all the hard work that goes into making a business successful. My biggest wish is for all the people at the top, the CEO, CIO, CTO, CFO, the managers, the HR director to have to see first-hand what it is like to a.) Do hard work with their own 2 hands, b.) Have to feel what it is like to not be sure if their personal bills can be paid in full that month and c.)Actually have their pay tied directly to the REAL profitability of the company. I do not want to hear how they are more deserving because they took the risk, or went to xxx school, or they have to make the “hard decisions.” That is all crap. What they need to do is wake up to the fact that it is the hard working middle class that makes the world go round and to put them in their lifestyle they have been accustomed to, while the workers place in the world has dwindled... Bring back real ethics to business, stop the overt greed, the thinking that they are smarter than the average Joe. This is the new millennium. Information is free and easy to get and in general the hard working people are getting smarter and wiser to the truth. Perhaps I am still a bit Naïve to it all, and that is why I will work hard till I can’t work anymore. I will be able to sleep well at night though knowing that I did my best to help my friends and family and my community. I won’t have to look over my shoulder or regret anything I did. Perhaps if we all start feeling this way we can start to make a difference. I just hope for my kids’ sake that eventually we go back to a society that values hard work and ethics over possessions and greed.

First time was for "snow covered" license plate, which was BS, it was late and I assume he wanted an excuse to pull me over after he saw me basically idle to a redlight. (long open empty road, I just coasted to a stop) Cop was cool, didn't give me any attitude.

Tonight, coming home and after a couple miles of being tailed gated by the damn state trooper he finally tosses on lights and pulls me over. I jokingly ask what he had been waiting for pulling me over wise and he cops some huge ass attitude about what he wants to spend his nights doing etc etc. Total BS, he gives me a written warning for god knows what.

Preface to all this, I drive a 3/4 ton pickup, tune limited to 80mph and I sit in the damn right lane at 65mph 100% of the time. Messed up a few years ago and don't need the hassle so I drive like a damn saint.

First time was for "snow covered" license plate, which was BS, it was late and I assume he wanted an excuse to pull me over after he saw me basically idle to a redlight. (long open empty road, I just coasted to a stop) Cop was cool, didn't give me any attitude.

Tonight, coming home and after a couple miles of being tailed gated by the damn state trooper he finally tosses on lights and pulls me over. I jokingly ask what he had been waiting for pulling me over wise and he cops some huge ass attitude about what he wants to spend his nights doing etc etc. Total BS, he gives me a written warning for god knows what.

Preface to all this, I drive a 3/4 ton pickup, tune limited to 80mph and I sit in the damn right lane at 65mph 100% of the time. Messed up a few years ago and don't need the hassle so I drive like a damn saint.

Instances like this really make me sympathize with people who dislike cops.
Well that last part is not cool... but anyways.

Jay, I share many (if not all) of your sentiments. I do not understand how the "wigs" are not embarrassed by their continual actions, or more commonly the lack thereof, which disregard the people at ground level who have to deal with the daily roller coaster of stress that results from dealing with customers, multitudes of corporate restrictions and policies full of grey areas, etc. It becomes harder every day to continue working for dishonest and unethical people who have wasteful/unhealthy/deplorable habits, unnecessarily excessive and commonly criminal lifestyles, and who lack the desire and/or the ability to communicate about any of it when confronted.

Either way, that reason is why Adam's motor got built, we went to cam SBE and saw some trashed cam bearings. In your case, cam is the only pricey thing right? F it, run it till it blows.

I've been doing it for 13 years, it's because OPEC won't slow production. Also because the US had an oil exportation ban since the 70's. Our oil price it's a lot lower than the rest of the world because we can only sell out to a select few countries. I say we drill our own oil and use it domestically.

You are channeling your frustration towards the wrong group. Naturally consumers are going to be happy with lower gas prices because we've been bent over for a decade. If you are going to stick with that mind set then you are welcome for consumers having to spend a ridiculous amount for fuel and all petroleum supported products for the last 10 years.
