So my issue is not getting the car to go into the reverse gear itself but it suddenly became very difficult to push the shifter over. The car goes in all gears fine but when I push the shifter all the way right to go up to reverse it is very tight. To the point I need to use both hands to get it over. Just so I can be as clear as possible it is not the upward motion but the right motion out of gear that is giving me problems.

Any one no what may cause this issue??

Thanks ahead of time for any help..

Something happened and your reverse lockout solenoid isn't working. You're not hurting anything by overriding it, it's just harder to get past the solenoid into reverse.

Check your connector on the reverse solenoid sometimes you can "wiggle" it a lil and it'll work but most the time the solenoid goes bad

Thanks guys it makes sense that the solenoid went bad cause it was so random. Worked and then didn't.

Bringing this back up because I have an issue with my reverse lockout as well.

Did you replace the solenoid and get it fixed?
Was it hard to get it into reverse all the time? (when stopped and while driving)

Mine works opposite of how it should - hard to push over when stopped - easy while driving.

I think we wired it correctly, but I suppose it's possible that we didn't, it's been a few years since the trans swap. I have even changed the values in the tune so it should work opposite, but it did not cause any change..

Just wondering if my problem lies not with the wiring, but the actual solenoid..

You probably wired it in to the wrong signal. It needs a +12V constant (great spot to tap this is the Reverse Light Harness since you have to splice anyway), and a grounding signal. If you did the M6 conversion, it's easy to tap one of the TCC wires, and then repin that wire at the PCM to the correct Reverse Lockout pin, and all will function as normal.

If the solenoid is wired backwards, it will do exactly this as well. I accidentally wired mine backwards when I did my swap. (I lose the 50/50 EVERY time lol) I was able to correct it through the tunnel hole, been awesome ever since :)

Thanks guys, I'll check it out once I get back to work on it, when the weather starts to warm up again!
